    Re: Cable release thread

Yup. Some operate on more of a shoe-string. But no matter... Involvement in standards development requires a big investment. Each SDO and each standards working group has its own personality.

    Re: Moved?

It possibly has to do with this forum’s definition of ‘large format’. They define by the negative size rather than the camera used or final print size.

Also... I stopped trying to put 475 ml in it. Only 450 and that helped reduce leakage.

Re: Stearman Press leaking like crazy

I load mine in a changing bag so wetting the O-ring never has been a great option even though it’s probably the best option. After one leaky session my agitation protocol changed from inversion...
  12. Re: Lubricant for Grafic RH/20 roll film holder

Much more affordable, easier to source, and the stuff is great for that type of application. I’ve used the WD-40 version and FinisLine, which is at every bike shop it seems.
  13. Re: Lubricant for Grafic RH/20 roll film holder

Personally, I’ve never lubricated the rollers on my roll film holders. I’ll have to check them and see if the need it. I’ll probably substitute a liquid Teflon dry lube though.

Drew... if you haven’t done so already, it might be useful to read the entire article I provided a link to yesterday. Explains all conditions and caveats for unpaid claims and unpaid assistant. :)
  18. Re: E-Bay: What can I do If the buyer won't Pay?

That said, Drew... I generally pay for my “wins” within an hour. You’d love me as a buyer. :)

It seems that altitude is just one factor in UV level. Right now I’m at near sea-level but experiencing an extremely high level of UV.

Re: 210mm or 240mm for Portraits?

“ Secondly, for a newcomer to LF, would you recommend that I use a 210 or 240 for portraits? ”

That close enough to not matter.

210 or 300. Your 150 will be good for environmental portraiture....

All sideways. I was testing because I though I remembered that choosing a smaller image size made the image display correctly. Don’t know what I was remembering since it clearly doesn’t work. Sorry.

Re: Fungus on antique Lens: Can it be fixed?

I’d consider it non-repairable. As Steven Tribe has said several times, there is a possibility of unrolling the brass lens holder, but if the brass has work hardened it will crack and break. I doubt...

  34. Re: Cambo sc and Schneider 90mm f/8 Super Angulon Multicoated focus problems

Yes, setting up camera correctly is the first task. No other option was stated or implied. ;)

Re: Lens and shutter combo check

Take a picture. Use a tripod and focus carefully. Look at negative with loupe. If it as crisp as you’d expect for the aperture used... you’re good to go.
