Actually, I think I was pouring too slow. I tried again today and found that only a few milliliters out of 260ml over flowed when I poured as quickly as I could.
I can live with that.

Thanks for the tips, all - I agree it is largely about consistency!
Thanks Daniel!
I inspect the lift to see if I can figure out how to get to the splash guard tomorrow. Also, I do recall reading that Ilford suggests starting the drain 10 seconds early so I may...
I have a couple of questions about using a Jobo with a lift. First I get some “backwash” out the drain tube when pouring chemicals into the lift. Is is there any trick to doing this - go fast, go...

I was trying to avoid building out a separate room due to the complications. Given the open floor joists I think I would need a ceiling in it to make it fairly air tight so a ventilation fan can do...
Excellent - that looks great. I was thinking that flexible duct would drag the air flow but it like you engineered a nice solution. I went to Home Depot today and saw the options are pretty sparse...
Thanks - that what I was concerned about, I may buy a bit of pipe and do a test today and see what happens. I may then check out a kitchen hood.
My darkroom is an open unfinished basement, complete with all the associated air leaks, so I would need a huge fan to turn over all the air an adequate number of times per hour. So I’m just...
Since I am not an HVAC engineer, as I assume most of you are ;), I would appreciate any feedback on the feasibility of the following simple solution. I’m thinking of connecting a 6" duct fan...
I hadn’t thought of progressive holes along the pipe - I’ll keep that in mind!
I process mostly (95%) B&W, but will do some color film processing on occasion (no printing) and I can mix my chemical under the fan as well prior to developing in a Jobo.
Thanks
I agree, I was not planning to use a big dust extractor - just utilizing the pipe/hose components. I think your approach is what I’m aiming for and I’m glad it works well!
Thanks!
I was using a Nova tent in my unfinished basement darkroom for my printing trays and have set up a 6” duct fan to blow into the large bottom hole in the tent, inflating it, and then exiting at the top...

Thanks, for the info.
For background, I received a box of 150w unmarked Osram bulbs with the enlarger. This unit also has a "Resistrol" dial and a voltage gauge. (I usually keep it at about 70...
Thanks!
So I’ll leave it out of my setup. I have another MX with a Dichro head - if I ever use that I might plug the stabilizer in.
Thanks - I don’t really know if I need it all. I guess if I was doing critical and precise work, voltage fluctuations might make a difference, but since I’m just trying to reach the level of...
Thanks here is a picture - it looks like #8191 but I can find no markings. It has two cords one with a big warning tag that it cannot be plug into a wall out let, but only to a timer.
It looks a...
I bought a Besler 4x5 enlarger that came with a Besler Stabilized Power Supply. From looking online, it appears this unit may not be for this enlarger but for a 23c color head. Is there any value...
I have been practicing with marking the head’s panning position and then spinning the camera around on the tripod and back - I think it will work ok. I just have to remember to do it when needed!

I thought about it but I’m still afraid I would bump the aperture mounting the lens from behind the camera.
I found a thread on reattaching the bellows when the glue fails. But I can’t find a link to a demonstration on disassembling the stages to clean the frame and reattach the bellows ( I’m using auto...
I’m gonna need a bigger backpack.
Thanks for all the ideas !
I’m not talking about photos on the edge of cliffs usually, but more like at the edge of a river with bolders and slippery rocks to negotiate - the risk is getting...

Interesting - I have not seen that variation.
Yeah, that was Pieter’s suggestion as well
Great idea! Thanks for the great idea!
I’ll give it a try on my next outing.
Thanks.
While I don’t have a pano head (and I am not really familiar with them, since I shoot panorama cameras), I do have a strong three axis geared head, but I don’t think I could maintain my...
Recently I have committed to shooting more LF and find myself in situations where it is impractical or even risky to walk to the front of the camera to change the aperture. For example at the edge...
Fantastic- thanks all ! I should have thought of it being used as an index pin! Now I’ll know for next time.
I’ll probably remove it - I have a lens spanner to tighten it up.
I received a bargain grade Schneider 150mm f5.6 Apo-Symmar recently from KEH for my 4x5. I am having trouble mounting it to an offset Linhof board and any advice would be appreciated.

I’ll give that a shot - thx
I’ve been using mine more and more and have found a few warts. Get it light tight requires Velcro if along the bottom to the detached floor, that is a pita. But worse is the super low quality...
Just an update - I took the offset boards and measured the distance from the top of the inner molded-in centered circle (ridge) to the top of the retaining ring (a) and likewise for the bottom to...
Thanks that’s a good point….
