  1. Re: Arca Swiss F-Line Metric vs Metric C Field for architceture

Tom, if you tend to use wide angle lenses from 47mm to 90mm focal length, you should buy the wide angle bag bellows additionally.
I recommend you to buy the normal two 15cm rails on the 30cm...
  2. Re: Arca Swiss F-Line Metric vs Metric C Field for architceture

I use both metric and classic (4x5 and 8x10).
Buy the normal 4x5 metric model with orbix.
When you upgrade to larger formats 5x7 and 8x10, the small Field model front standard is not “directly”...
  3. Re: Moderate wide + shallow DOF lens recommendations?

Well, if you have a Sinar system, why not use barrel lenses with the Sinar copal shutter?
Some of the old fast lenses are available and cheap in barrel, like aero ektar alternatives.
  4. Re: Replacing 300/4.5 Heliar with 300/4.5 Apo-Lanthar

Marco, here are the measurements of the compound V mounting barrel of the apo lanthar 30cm f4.5.
The last measurement is the front mounting barrel depth to the shutter surface.

I use the 6X? tilting Silverstri loupe bought more than 20 years ago. It’s a good loupe for focusing on GG.

  7. Re: Schneider Super-Symmar XL 110mm f5.6 v. Nikon Nikkor-SW 120mm f8

I can’t compare ssxl 110mm with the nikkor as I don’t have the latter, but the ssxl 110mm is the one of the best I have used in past, in terms of contrast and sharpness. For 4x5 use near the center,...

  9. Any Jamin catalogs? from a case study of Jamin (Darlot) cone centralisateur

I recently started to study Jamin cone centralisateur lenses.
D’Agostini’s 2nd edition of the 19th century lens book doesn’t show any Jamin catalogs.

  13. Re: Goerz Doppel-Anastigmat Series III No. 1 Question

It looks to me the lens doesn’t have the pair of the lens cells.
If so, the focal length doubles like 300mm, and that’s why the lens doesn’t behave like 150mm focal length lens.
    Please confirm the...

No, I don’t think so, imo.

It all depends on what you want to do.
