This is such a great image and a cool story! Did you have a self timer on your lens? Those funky Spiratone type mechanical timers? I need to get one of those.

  8. Re: film holders vs film hangers vs film carriers vs ... ?

135 film is another term for 35mm film. I think. Some old boxes say "135" on it but it doesn't designate the size of the film. 35mm is the size of the film is that correct? I think 135 just means...

Love these. Funny was researching xray film again today.

  11. Excited to embark on Covid PT/PD testing...trails....newbie.....NEED TIPS!

I was telling myself how much I miss handling a real print. I just moved and had to hang some prints from way back when. I had to move prints inside a frame and forgot what it was like to handle a...

Jimi, those are LEGIT looking plans thank you so much!

I just finished it today in between phone meetings.

Basically, it's just a 2x2 plywood, I spaced it out 2.5inches in between lights. 1x4...

Re: Tripod arm to support camera bed

I've always used a light stand under the front bed. With so many strobists around, light stands are cheap and good enough to support the front extended bed.

Or find a used car undercarriage...

    Great source thank you!!

I'm glad I'm doing wood, I was thinking "cheap" and just getting a garage storage box. But with wood, I can build legs on the side to raise it up and down if I need to.

UV LED box for alt printing

    Hi guys,
Looked at Tim Layton's site for converting his lightbox. I bought the same UV lights he has. So economical and I can't wait.

Has anyone else built a box? I'm using a 1x4 for the...
  23. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Ohhh? I did notice that my dentists went from film to digital. And when I got xrays for a very bad sprain wrist, it was digital as well. Kinda neat that you can see your cavities almost as soon...

I'm ready to try it out, looks like Fuji has a new improved version called the:

  30. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I came to this thread to look for this. Yep, 500+ pages is a lot to go through and forum software isn't great for searching.

I am planning on doing some PT/PD prints this year and read that...
  31. Re: Thinking out loud, why doesn't someone just 3d print a triple LF box?

When I worked in the photo/film biz in NYC when I was younger, I used gaffer tape like there was no tomorrow. Of course, I never purchased it, just used it daily at the studios. I didn't know Bogen...
  32. Re: Thinking out loud, why doesn't someone just 3d print a triple LF box?

    Excellent points!!!

That's why I think out loud. I noticed that last time I bought Bergger film, it was only a double box.
  33. Thinking out loud, why doesn't someone just 3d print a triple LF box?

With all this technology we have, I have been saving triple boxes since the 80's. Granted, I've lost a lot of them. And over the years the corners break.

    I've seen elaborate 3d printed stuff. ...

I'll check out the manual. I had no idea one can even get a manual for this!!!
  35. Re: How hard is it to replace the bellows of Kodak Master View 810

Thanks! Its under $200 for the bellows on ebay. I was joking that a camera repair place would charge $300 for installing it! Yikes. I can get a CLA for 35mm tiny litle screws for half that.

  36. Re: How hard is it to replace the bellows of Kodak Master View 810

I'm wondering, I see one on Ebay right now, wondering if I can get it and get a local Camera shop here in Socal to put it in for me. I'm sure they have put bellows in a...
