I wonder how difficult it would be to graft 2 8x10 hangers together ? guessing the stainless would be the problem.

fwiw, I'm trialling Bergger Pancro 400 in 5x7 and first batch looks fine. Rodinal or HC-110 B, fixed with TF-5. I know they're different bases, but emulsion etc shld be same no ? Wonder if a hypo...
yup. pretty cheap and also odourless. got a 50 lb cube of it and it's gonna take forever to use it up. have given lots away as well.
Interesting. I ordered Formulary 130 recently and had no problems getting that. Same with TF-5. Think Rodinal was a no go however.
since we're talking about 8x10, my go to for most photographs is a 300 5.6. I've used a 210 Fuji (inside lettering) for full and waist up portraits when I wanted more breathing room in the photo.
if you're lucky, your processor will have a hole in the side where you can use a manual winder. hope it's just dirty rollers, but that cld still mean the motor is toasted as stuck rollers cld burn it...
if you have access to a lathe, I'd experiment with shaving out the centre to create the barrel shape. would depend on how much barrel you need as the walls will be thinner. Richard's idea of heating...
ok, I gotta ask...3F ?
what Ron said. I'd probably remove them and placed them in a very well padded box. do no scratch them ! secure all loose parts that can be removed (make sure to mark what they are and where they go)....
I have a sticky tent (and focus cloth) as well and am at the point where I'm tempted to use solvents on it. nothing to lose really, but it could mean having extra poles ;) tempted to buy the Chinese...
I'd suggest looking into 5x7 (am presuming you're shooting 4x5) and making contacts. I find 4x5 too small for contacts(ymmv) but 5x7 (and 8x10 for that matter) is almost a sweet spot.
YIKES !!! no wonder the price is right.I have two spare Focotars if you decide to get the enlarger. Aperture ring is not super silky smooth. Might be worth seeing what the enlarger comes with (colour...
bags are smaller and fold up small. tents are larger but have much needed interior room/volume. a must imo for loading holders.
if everything works properly, $200 is an absolute steal. make sure the lens aperture ring is smooth and not sticky as that could mean you could nudge the af off a bit. it had three modules, a b/w...
I have the same enlarger as well and it's not a problem I've encountered. The light will be even across the frame so I don't why you need to worry about vignetting. You're not enlarging the LF...
nice. that's kinda long ride for groceries ;) u going to run studded as well ? stay safe and be well
nice set up. am I seeing another battery behind the crankshaft ?
Vaughn, did you get a long john style cargo bike ? I'm looking at these (E-assist) when I retire. This is one I'm jonesing for...https://curbsidecycle.com/collections/all/products/urban-arrow-family
good access, wonder if the sub was a non working display (was drydocked) ?
there's Famous Format (used to be New55). There's a kind of backorder on their 100 and 400 films. Not cheap however, but it's, afaik, the only 4x5 instant film, still in production. Haven't ordered...
Hi, and welcome back to the fold. hope your time away was restful and rejuvenating.
so if I had a suuuuper long exposure, Polaris might have described a...doughnut ? lol thanks for the info, couldn't figure it out. stay safe
this photo was taken a few years ago, and I wish I had a wider lens to include more foreground, and definitely more sky. can't recall why Polaris isn't more distinct. the neg looked slightly thin but...
definitely go with a new moon. also, depending on ground conditions, and how long you think your exposure will be, I'd be looking at dew control as well. if yer not keen to hump a battery pack and...
I wanna say insufficient fixing, but guessing you have your process down pat. maybe a bit longer rinse in the water stop, or use proper stop or citric acid ? have you tried refixing ?
fwiw, I've...
are you using strap heaters to keep the lens dew free ?
Astrophysics !!!! long wait time for the scope ? and u can always push the film, something I've done shooting star trails with the 8x10. Acros would have helped with reciprocity ;)
I'd also take a look at the heating element and see if it might be covered in calcium. no idea if this would be a cause for really slow heating though. If you need to heat things up quickly, I'd just...
If it's a base scratch, I'd just use nose grease and make prints. if it's emulsion, I'd probably adopt a hybrid approach. Hi rez scan, touch up in PS and make a killer print. Scan that, or output the...
Unless I'm missing something, I can't see how a 30mm min bellows is useful for 8x10. even with a 4x5 reducing back, I can't see how it works.
I'm not sure which model I have ( I have both the blue and grey models) but I'd bet that the 81-12 will be fine. Also be sure sure which holder you have as you will need the loading tray 81-09 if you...
I think that's the iso he exposes at. the emulsion would also likely slough off if it was 70°c, and would be pretty toasty for hand shuffling in trays ;)
Throwing in my support for Bergger Neutral. Lovely paper, tones nicely. Was going to try Adox but we know what happened there, can only hope it gets figured out, heard it was very good paper. A bit...
I wonder if the union where the tanks join is causing this problem ? Is it all sheets or just a few, and what's the orientation of the sheets in the drum ?
hmmm, new 5x7 or 7x17 holders might interest me, depending on price.
I've been thinking at long johns for photo excursions, but they damn expensive. esp if on gets e-assist.
something like this. If Iived somewhere flat, wouldn't need e-assist
...
process a sheet straight from the box, which may or may not be the problem. is it bagged or double boxed ?
you could try to steam some hardwood slats into a slight curve and use those instead.
as well as the Lensrental link, which is spot on, I'm using Spray Nine™ on my bag and car. This product is rated for H1N1, MERS etc., and iirc, has been given the ok from Canada Health, to deal with...
hmmm. I have a 4x5 Gravity works washer and it works correctly in that the tube fills, then drains the chamber. Don't use it much as I thought it used too much water. As mentioned, check everything...
