Thanks for good advice all,
Considering the convenience of d23 I'm likely to give that a go first :-) Are there any backsides to d23... or would that be discussing personal preference?
Cheers...

Hi,
Just out of curiosity... does anyone have any home brew developer recipes for the TMax films?
I see that there are several here: https://www.digitaltruth.com/data.php?doc=appformulas
But I...
Thanks for the feedback.
They came back to me and said that as an emergency solution black and white stabilizer and Mirasol 2000 can be used, but they dont recommend it. It will not keep as long, but they are talking about a...
Will do - thanks Drew.
It says 24 weeks: https://www.digitaltruth.com/products/tetenal_tech/Tetenal-Colortec-E6-3-Bath-Kit-2.5L-Instructions.pdf
Its probably gonna be good for longer :-)
I usually mix up 500ml. No need to mix up the entire thing. It has shorter shelf life mixed up.
Ahem... I actually have that book... Thanks :-) But good point. I suppose its just as easy making test strips from a cut 16x20.
There is a thing under the lens I can move in front of it it I want...
Hi all,
I've been comparing PQ, Dokumol and Dektol with TMax100 (at 25+50+100 iso) and TMax400 (at 100+200+400 iso). I don't get good results with Dokumol and Tmax400 and I don't understand why....
I tried filling and emptying the paper drums today just to see how long that took. I tried with both a 3063 expert drum and a 2830 drum. The kind of drum didnt seem to matter much (considering the...
I have never tried the Bellini kit but Tetenals Colortec kit is brilliant. You can read abit here (it is Tetenal about Tetenal):...
The fill and drain time of the Jobo drums is why I tried with trays. With the 3005 drums you pretty much have to start draining as soon as youve filled it up. Particularly if you are timing as...
Thanks Drew - I'll keep that in mind ;-)
Good evening,
And thanks :-)
I am using a Durst M670 Color. Ive been using both trays room temp (3 first), and a Jobo CPA2 (tempering bath at 35C) with lift and a Expert Drum 3005 (the 4th.)....
Thanks guys - appreciate this :-)
Thanks guys. Are both of you doing this in drums at 35/95 degrees? How particular are you about timing your baths?
Hi all,
I just took some time off work to try to figure out how to do RA4 printing. I tried both in trays at room temp and in drums at 35 Celsius / 95 Fahrenheit.
I used the same neg and tried...
Still waiting.
Bernice, the goal would be to get a digitized copy that contains as much as possible of the original information. Today I use a drumscanner I got at a reasonable price - and it works quite well.
...
This is more interesting then I thought it would be. As far as I understand, though, is that a APO-corrected lens is useful for reproduction and scanning (with dslr) large format negatives with,...
Thanks for the (useful) feedback fellas.
Maybe I should have mentioned I got curious about this when considering digitizing my eight-tens with a digital camera instead of a scanner.
Hello folks,
Whats the practical differences of Aspherical, Apo(chromatic) & ED (extra low dispersion) lenses?
Does Apo and ED serve the same purpose regarding chromatic aberration?
While...
Thanks,
Just sent them a message. I'll post back.
Cheers

I chatted to Tetenal chemist a couple of years ago and as far as I can remember he told me they didnt use formalin anymore... or is there a chance I misunderstood?
Hi,
I accidentally spilled out my stab from my tetenal e6 kit. Is it possible to replace that stabilizer with say Kodak Photo-Flo?
Cheers
Peter
Thanks Drew. Im keen to figure out the completely darkroom-style way to do this :-)
Thanks. I'm looking into how to make carbon prints from a positive. So, it seems like I want the positives to dense and contrasty... as far as I can figure out. Which I actually think many of them...
Haha :-D I'll take your word for it. Tmax 100 it is :-) Thanks!
Nope - I have no idea how to do that... or what I need to do that.
Hi all,
The answer to this might be obvious, however... it is a mystery to me. Will negative films like FP4, TMAX100 or TMAX400 with long straight line curves and fairly high density ranges keep...
Thanks all,
I'm keen to get into carbon printing, but I don't want to use digital negatives. So I'm curious to know what kind of 8x10" BW sheet film would be suitable for making separation...
Hi all,
When making separation negatives from color positive film - how important is the black and white film you will use to make these separation negatives?
Considering costs I'd rather use...
I agree, usually it is better to apply corrections beforehand. I guess the easiest might be, if you don't do it beforehand, is to adjust the Kelvin. I use PhotoLine instead of PhotoShop and there are...
Thanks for the feedback folks. I use (probably more often than not) a 81A filter when shooting slides... However, there are situations when Id rather not. So out of convenience it would be nice to...
Hi all,
Is there a way to find the corresponding HEX number for a Wratten number? IE what is the HEX color of a 81A filter?
Cheers
Peter
Since Dektol is also usefull for RA-4 reversal it sounds like a useful developer option. I might give this a go :-)
I'm very happy with the BW film reversal results I get. And PQ has been working well for that purpose (I have never tried paper reversal). It is just out of curiosity I am asking of similar...
I assume you are using Fotospeed PD5 for BW film reversal and DPP? What kind of adjustments did you have to make when you switched developers?
Thanks,
I'm probably not going down the mixing-chemicals-myself road. The Ethol LPD seems interesting though. I have the impression that Tetenal Dokumol serves a similar purpose, but I have no...
Hey,
This is just out of curiosity... are there any developers similar to PQ? In regards of strength, character and content? I use PQ mainly for black and white reversal development.
Cheers...
