  1. Re: Where are the great shots? Am I a cynicist or a realist?

This seems like pretty good advice. I think it would be a pretty good “block” breaker.
  2. Re: A Special Day in Rocky Mountain National Park

Not a bad one in the bunch thank you for sharing them. BTW Emerald lake is one of my favorite spots in RMN.

It’s tough not to be overwhelmed there. I like your first one, it’s non-standard view but there is no doubt where you are.

That’s a really pleasing photo. Does the Delta have an enhanced green response? That foliage is so light.

By you or the lab? Just because a lab has handled well in the past doesn’t mean they don’t have a new guy in there who is untrained or uncaring.

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

A terrific photo Bryan and a great example of solarization. I thought modern films weren’t supposed to do that but apparently the Efke 25 is retro enough to generate the effect.

I think I prefer the first square. A little burning would tame that highlight I think.

Bryan nice job on the waterwheel. The way the light plays around the center of the wheel implies movement for me but obviously not as the spokes are sharp (unless you are really good with that Galli...

Re: Goerz Argyle 12" F11 experiences?

Slightly off topic, i keep wanting to read the title as Gargoyle experience. If you can get the lens for reasonable cost and hassle (to you), get it. You never know what you’ll find.

When i got my first Packard shutter a few years ago this bothered me greatly as well. After watching this thread, I think we are overthinking it. Who says you need a bulb at all?

  25. Re: What lens to get for most shallow depth of field on 4x5?

All else being equal, you can generally assume that longer lenses and shorter focusing distances will also give a shallow d-o-f. This is a rule-of-thumb practice. Each lens has its own...

  27. Re: 150mm WA lens for 8x10 recommendations

I don’t know how much coverage you need but the Wollensak IIIa, 6-1/2” is for 8x10. It covers 10x12 at smaller stops. There is one of these on eBay right now starting at $185.
