Movements are not designed to be handheld on a Technika.

The top flap started with the Master.

Wide angle is much more convenient on the Master as well as the V. It is most convenient on the...

Re: Cameras with geared swing movement

Good part of the reason is because EPOI and then Sinar Bron were very free in long time demo loans to studios. I was one of those EPOI that did some of these.

    It didn’t become a b. The SuperTechnika 23B did become one. The 57 didn’t.

Re: Cameras with geared swing movement

Not to forget that the movements are silky smooth, without lubricants, each movement has separate locks and tilts, on the S version, has a removable detent.

No, more gearing man’s more weight.
A LInhof TK 45S will do everything you want, and then more, but with no geared movements othe then focus.
  14. Re: 8x10" at which length, is an auxiliary bellows support necessary?

    Made of aluminum.
  15. Re: Official length of Linhof Kardan TL 8x10" bellows?

    Where?
  16. Re: 8x10" at which length, is an auxiliary bellows support necessary?

Shouldn’t be necessary. If the bellows develops sag just take it off and rotate it 90°. If you want, since the rail is flat on top just put a paper cup under the bellows.
  17. Re: Official length of Linhof Kardan TL 8x10" bellows?

As long as you aren’t using the longer rail accessory. Longest one I sold was a meter long.

Re: Using filters on LF lenses

Focus shift is focus shift. If you place a filter behind the lens, and that lens was not designed for a rear filter, then you have created a focus shift.

Re: Using filters on LF lenses

Any dirt, dust smudges, etc will effect the lens from behind much more then in front. And there will be a focus shift.

Re: Linhof Technika III vs later models

You should have told that to Mary Ellen Mark. She used her Master Technika hand held using the rangefinder.
If it is properly cammed it can’t drift off.
  39. Re: There is a weird little screw on my Schneider SA XL 5,6/58

Get a rubber stamp pad. Rub the pad over the screw head. Put the shutter in the lens board hole and press down. You will have a mark where to drill or file out.
