    Re: 14X17 Fire Studio

Thanks guys. My big 14x17 to 20x24 is for sale but it is a beast a sturdy one at that. My lightweight 21 pound 14x17 is a dream to use and is solid as well. I've always taken my time and tried to...

Please don't associate me with this company. If I was ever too start a company and build cameras for photographers it would be Carbon Art Photography.

Awesome. Glad we can help. Good idea to start small and go from there. Small for me is 8x10, makes a great contact print. Good luck.

Re: How to get into ULF?

A lot of great comments but what happened to the OP? Did he get the information he/she needed? Did we scare them away? ULF is awesome to create with but you need to commit to it. There are ways to do...

Re: How to get into ULF?

You have to buy 500 sheets for the single sided film. The double sided works great and is the cheaper way to go. ZZ medical has it last time I checked.

Re: How to get into ULF?

Looks like we scared off the OP already! I will say that if you want to get into ULF or LF for that matter you must have a passion for it or I think you are wasting your time and money. Commit to it,...

Re: How to get into ULF?

I still manage to hick although not as far as when I was younger with all of my ULF gear. With ULF you don't carry but one holder, one lens and some snacks. It actually weights less than my 8x10...

Re: How to get into ULF?

Building a ULF camera is possible with the tools you have available that is for sure. You need to decide on which size you wish to build and then find a design you like. I do not use any plans so...

    Re: Chamonix 5x12" camera

I love my 8x20 and I still have plenty of film in the freezer for it. If I can keep going like Jim Noel is with his ULF system I'll be able to use up the film. Jim Noel is my hero as a ULF shooter...

    Re: Starting with ULF

For ULF work I use for my 8x20 a 360mm Rodenstock Gerogon and a 21 1/4" Kodak Ektanon. Both inexpensive lenses in barrels. Stopped down to 64 I don't need the weight of a shutter. For the 14 x17 I...

    Re: ALL Yosemite Campgrounds CLOSED!

I remember those day when I lived in California. I was 6 hours away and did just that. Watched the forecast and headed to camp 4 and hunkered down. Now you can't even get into camp 4.

I can add my experience with ULF for you. I shoot 820, and 1417. I built and sold my 1114 to a good friend. I build all of my cameras so that is not an issue for me. When you go to ULF film holders...

  39. Re: Please post your Manuals & Resources on Building your own Large Format Camera
