I've used 360 tele xenar, 360 tele arton and 380 15" tele raptar (optar). All 3 provide very good coverage, good contrast and sharpness for my tastes. The 15" tele raptar is my favorite, though.
I just found this when researching another zeiss lens: https://www.arnecroell.com/czj.pdf
He has compiled a lot of information in this paper and it may help you. I could only find 165mm and 180mm...
Thanks! So it is a "for real" tessar. I also found this article: https://www.arnecroell.com/czj.pdf. Thank you for Mr. Arnie Croll for this information.
This article has a whole section on these...
Thanks everyone.
Polishing sounds maybe better if I can't get it apart.
But great suggestion--Yes--I totally forgot about the lens close up diopters I have somewhere. Hopefully the focal...
Long story short: I just inherited a junk 60cm apo tessar. nice shape except for the dust and the front element which looks like it was cleaned a LOT over the years without much care. So the front...
the barrel version of the 1100 xxl is f14--so it buys you a bit over a stop of light. You can do direct positives on regular photographic paper if you use reversal bleach and develop as...
telescope flocking material. they make it in many varieties: self adhesive paper, tape, board, foil.

Glad to see things finally worked out for you. I'll bet you're the first one to suggest checking the synch setting next time someone has the same problem.
Stumped!
You can try to open the shutter on "B" then pop the strobe, then close the shutter. Just test to make sure your "B" setting works. That way you ensure to get the full power of the flash pop...
film is being loaded BACKWARDS, perhaps??? check your film holders.
Sending it out kind of almost eliminates a one-person processing error, right? It's an assumption to be sure, but a pretty reasonable one that at least one of the sheets was processed correctly...
Did you leave the dark slide in the film holder when you shot the picture? You can't have left the lens cap on?
I have a set of the hasselblad cut film holders and there is very little thickness for plates. The slavich holographic plates in 2.5" size, for example, are too thick to fit in them. I no longer have...
That one from glennview is a different rail. The one everyone's talking about is the 1 inch square rail that was used on the original cambos--this is what makes it desirable--the rail can be...
For long extensions, home depot sells steel and aluminum 1 inch square rods that work with the cambo square rail drive. Aluminum works to about 4 feet extension and then you must got to steel....
Any lens will work. All you have to do is black out a uv filter around the periphery deep enough to get the desired effect on the ground glass. Or just cut out an aperture on a piece of black paper...
Believe it or not, I've been using a tiltall with a zone 6 field camera for almost 20 years.
Yes, drill a hole through the shutter just big enough to pull the hose through. I am not home and can't send you a pic--but it's not difficult--disassemble the packard shutter and just make sure you...
The film holder designed for use for the polaroid MP4 is centered--you can use it in most 4x5 cameras if you pull off the two side pins.
I've seen very small inline aquarium heaters that may do the job for very small flow and small temperature rise--you won't need to heat all that much for darkroom use, so maybe one of those would be...
In my experience, those tanks are hard to load, very cumbersome to use or agitate, and use a lot of chemistry. They work but will turn you off of home developing. For a beginner who wants to develop...
That's not exactly what I said. But I understand what you're saying. It's a communication thing, so let's just say I think we are in agreement and leave it at that.
My main issue got derailed and...
I think so--you're forgetting the tilt I mentioned. Rise is the same as a camera movement plus a camera tilt--then you correct the standards back to parallel to the subject plane--can you picture...
Perhaps it can be viewed this way:
Regular camera movements seem to be pretty much like moving the camera in the x/y directions--up and down / left and right, and tilting back and forth. This...
Correct--as far as I know, the only thing that camera movements do is allow a change in perspective or focus plane. I don't see how a camera movement would make a straight line appear to be curved.
Yes--to accentuate the effect of perspective, the rule is the closer you are to the subject, the more perspective "distortion" is enhanced--so shorter focus lenses produce more effect than longer...
don't do it! the revolving won't work because the opening is not a square but a "landscape orientation" rectangle. If you revolve the back, you will get a 4" x 4" square image!
I had some old 8x10 super xx from the 80's, I think about 5 years ago. The stuff that was not in the sealed packets was bad, but the stuff in the sealed packet was totally good. I have no idea how it...
Here's a photographer that markets his lenses:

First one that popped into my head.
Here's something related to this order--it looks to be a local offer only--it says nothing about shipping.

It seems to function just fine the way it is. Although there are still instances of "armchair moderation" by those that disagree with some posts--they can hit the little "report" button, but they...
Please, moderators, do not listen to the naysayers. The enforcement of common sense and common courtesy rules are an improvement and a welcome reversal from the abuses that have gradually crept in...

I just started to understand what separation is. I recently bought a protar because I thought I knew what I was doing. Now I feel like I've been made a fool because the protar double is supposedly...
Wow. I am reading this and am shocked by the stuff people have to go through. And the "well known scams" that--let's face it--there's no way a person like me would even know about this kind of thing....
My eyes must be going. I don't see any diffusion at all, blacks or whites. It looks sharp to me. Can someone point out a feature which shows the diffusion of blacks to help me see what everybody else...
This one is for the Impossible 8x10 users:
Can the Impossible 8x10 film fit in a standard 8x10 film holder?
I ask because I don't have the very expensive Polaroid holder and processor, but do...
:):)
I'd agree that the mirror or prism solution would work best in some circumstances.
