    Re: Light/Flash meter

I just gave up on my spotmeter (Capital/Soligor) and Lunasix to use a Sekonic 408, and might even sell the tiny L208, as the 408 does it all, including flash, and uses an AA cell. I had it for a few...

Re: A backpack for my brand new Tachihara?

When using a backpack for my Tachi (I'm regularly changing my mind :-) ), I use a Nature Trekker from Lowepro. It's a bit tight, but it fits the camera, lenses (I did put 5 in there, but 3 is more...

This is somethig I'm doing, and I think I'm not the only one. I got the idea from Bruce Barlow's Finely focused (which is a reading I'd strongly recommend). There are two points for me in doing this...

A stupid question : are you sure it's taxes ? I went to the US two years ago, and bought as much Tri-X as the store had. It was about 1/3 of the street price in France. I also bought some HP5, from...

    Re: Tachihara 4x5 Questions

I use a 75 on my Tachihara, and it's on a "regular" board (not recessed). This somewhat limits the amount of movements, but I'm still able to go out of the image circle...

Poll: Re: Poll: Gear vs. Good photos

I got rid of some gear in the last two years, my photography went better in the same time. Not sure this is related, though.

At least on NEW leather, a complete soaking (several hours can be needed) will soften, but it will shrink when drying. This method is used to form it around an object (a holder for a knife for...

    Re: Tachihara lens board

    Hi.

I'm using #3 and #1 shutters on my Tachihara. The #3 seems to be the maximum to fit in this board.
  14. Re: Why do you like Large Format photography? (Philosophy Talk Time)

I started LF for the higher quality and because I needed something else than 35mm to grow my photography.

    Re: Compound shutter problem

    David,

If I'm right, I guess Maël at Photo Technique (www.photo-technique.com) could do this. He's in France, so it may be a bit easier than sending your shutter to the UK.

Poll: Re: Poll: How many lenses in your 4x5 field kit?

Five and counting... I definitely miss something on the long side.

The 120 gets little use but is light and folds inside...

    Re: Qucik release advise

  27. Re: How many film holders (per format) do you own?

I used to have 20 in 4/5, went back to 15 (mostly because I wanted to rationalize a bit, so I sold the Arca and Linhof ones to keep only Fidelity)

I plan to buy a few more just to have some spare....

At the moment it would be my 150 APO-Symmar. The only issue with it is that I can't fold it in the Tachihara, but it is a real killer in terms of sharpness.
