    To add to what David mentioned above, don't forget about using a positive (chrome, or DR 5) which gives you the ability to skip the interpositive step.

    Don't forget ND filters! I use them often with my lenses in barrel.

    I know that Ilford's FP4 and HP5 make different negatives, but either can be slowed down.

    For what it's worth, I use PMK Pyro and FP4 and contact print on pt/pd, cyanotypes and sometimes gum bichromate. Works like a champ. Been using it for 4x5, 8x10 and 7x17 (when I still had one).

    I'm 38. Using mostly 8x10, but recently exposing a lot of film with the 4x5 and scanning to make enlarged negs via the digital route for pt/pd.
