  4. Re: Simple Q for LF newby: Lens shade (trad 35mm type) vs. Compendium Lens Hood

Dinkum makes a shade that should fit most cameras that have a hot shoe. I've looked up Calumet and Cambo compendium and they usually go for $45-65....and they should be fairly well adaptable. ...

Acufine ? I've done some when I had to cover gymnastics for the HS yearbook. That was Nikon F and Tri-X and I believe I shot at at ASA 1200 or 1600....way back in 1970-72 (few days ago). No...

  8. Re: Drum Scan vs DSLR vs Epson Scan (From Nick Carver's Youtube Channel)

I think Peter is correct (#8)....Nick lacks diligence. If the camera results were inadequate, one can do various things to overcome that. If Canon color was "off" (?) then why not try Pentax or...

Re: Servicing an old lens... worth it?

I saw couple of 6.5x8.5 holders on the auction site....rather expensive for my taste. You may choose to wait ? The size is bit off; therefore, it would be even more rare to find these on CL. As to...

    Re: help choosing portrait lens?

I've seen some nice images from Heliar, but the Fuji 240A delivers as well, not to mention several variations of Fuji 250. Don't have any info on the F4.5, but the F6.3 and F6.7 will cover 5x7 and...

  23. Re: 150mm lens suggestion for landscapes on a Cambo 45NX

Re: IR 760 filter - rating film speed

I looked up 850nm filter and it's described as 200X limiting factor (7.6 f-stops). Not really clear on linearity here, but in my silly brain that would have been 1.52 f-stop difference (1/5th). ...
