Re: Reasons for using reversal film?

I agree with everything Kiwi wrote. Slides have their own right and reason of existence and use, even if you scan for printing. The special color palette of Provia for instance, my favorite, or...

Re: 8x10 Intrepid Soft Sided Camera Case

Couldn’t you use your dark cloth for it? That’s how I protect my 4x5 in my backpack. I could even join my changing bag if I still don’t trust it

Re: Looks like Adox CHS 100 II sheet film is back...

I developed in the FX39-ii from and advised by Adox. I’m extremely enthusiastic about it. Here’s an example: https://lotwouda.zenfolio.com/p356547780/hf279b5ad#hf279b5ad . From experience I mostly do...

Re: Leaving Kodak for Ilford paper developer

I use Moersch eco 4812, insanely good, deep blacks, shelf life unsurpassed, just great. For both multigrade and fixed papers. https://www.moersch-photochemie.de/content/shop/positiv/110/lang:en

    Re: Rocks and stones

Very nice composition, not your everyday landscape choice of viewpoint. In my taste it could use a few deeper blacks only.

Re: 2 sheets of film in the same holder?

I am very enthusiastic about ADOX CHS 100 film. Wonderful tonal scale and no surprises when I follow Adox’s development advises. They pack the film sheets with paper sheets between them so you can’t...

  28. Re: Precision and Accuracy in LF Photography: How much is enough?

I reread my post but I cannot find the reason for that, sorry. I’m not a native English speaker, perhaps it’s that. I just told about my way of working, never had in mind to lecture anybody, neither...
  29. Re: Precision and Accuracy in LF Photography: How much is enough?

“It’s all very personal and subjective” is a too easy conversation stopper IMO. The subject is a much more important factor than personal taste or style of the photographer. In still life, portrait,...
  30. Re: 210 for travel and landscape: Heliar or Schneider?

Thnx Jim, nice photo from a time we had a choice in color films!
  31. Re: 210 for travel and landscape: Heliar or Schneider?

Yes that crossed my mind too, one Heliar 210 or the 150, 210 Claron and 300 together for the weight of ~one Heliar. I have three weeks left to wake up that one morning when I know what it’s gonna be.

    Re: 300mm lens 4x5" landscape
