Yeah, Helicon focus does a great job. I have Zerene Stacker, but I prefer Helicon.

    Good one, Bryan!

Jon, the focus-stacking is working well.

    No disagreement here. :)
  6. Re: Tech Pan 8x10 in a Jobo - Looking for Info

John Sexton used it when a scene needed a +2 expansion or more. His photographs using that method look pretty good to me.
  7. Re: Tech Pan 8x10 in a Jobo - Looking for Info

Pota is not required....the big thing is contrast and film speed, as TP tends to be very high contrast and low film speed. I used to use TD-3 from the formulary, but also using c41 color film...

"Speaking of macro, I just ordered a Rodenstock makro-sironar 180mm lens for my 4x5 since I've been doing a lot closeup photography."

That's no doubt a terrific lens!

Thanks, Tuco! Unfortunately the in-built focus stacking doesn't work with any of my macro lenses, as they need to be AF-S or AF-P.

Too soon to tell, and I've got lots work to do today. Even accounting for ISO64, it seems slower, but.....it's much later in the year, and it was pretty hazy.

    Re: Intellifaucet models and questions

Flow rates. If you use one for a print washer, then you want one with the low flow option. I see that's now standard on the D250, which is likely the one that you want.

  29. Re: Modified Surveying Tripod, Dutch Hill_Bolex.

For awhile, Dutch Hill made a photo version of their tripods, but it must not have sold very well. Surveyor tripods are great in the muck, as you can stomp the huge feet into the ground, and the...

    Re: Digital IR

I bought a D850 today. I'll give it a try with the R72, but I've heard that the newer cameras have stronger IR and UV filters, and so maybe exposures will get too long. I'll find out. :)

    Re: 3D-printing a silver tank?

How about using 1/4" thick black ABS and ABS cement? Or wood with Epoxy? The home centers also sell PVC boards that're easy to work. If I had to do this, I'd use PVC boards for the bottom and...

  40. Re: Over the years - sheet film holders question - your most preferred and maintenanc

My favorite 4x5 holders are the Toyo ones. I keep them in a bag or case in the field. The best care is to keep them from getting dirty. Before loading them, i "dust" them with a reusable silicone...
