Re: 4x5 lenses: telephoto and portraiture

It is very often mentioned or indikated in the name. Like Tele Xenar or Nikkor-T.
  2. Are there alternatives for Schneider Super Angulon XL 210mm to cover 11x14"?

The title says it all. XL 210mm is the king but what can get close to it with its own compromises of course?

Re: How to get into ULF?

For a quantum cat, yes, but the moment is actually taking the picture, not developing it. A quantum cat is neither in focus or out of focus but by taking the picture (i.e. making a measurement) we...

    No animal cruelty was involved.

But you gave me an interesting idea. 1:1 cat portraits. Though I wonder how to get a cat to pose for 4 seconds.

No issues with film holders when you develop inside the camera.

It is not very portable though.

    Trouble with small Verito barrel

I got a small 9" Verito lens with kind of misaligned aperture blades.

The problem is that I could not open the aperture barrel. I was able to unscrew the elements but that's it.

    Does anybody...
  8. Re: 480mm-600mm barrel lenses, covers 14x17 wide open, faster than f9?

I did 50x60cm 1:1 portraits with Zeiss Tessar 500mm f/4.5 (definitely too close), so it might work nice for 14x17" also from longer distances. There exits some longer Tessars that are also wider than...

Thanks! Would that mean that these lenses are then also optically different? Is the coverage and the maximum aperture of them the same @36"?

Optical diagrams of Pinkham and Smith lens?

I tried to find optical diagrams for Pinkham and Smith products but came back empty handed.

Anybody here can share some bits about the design of these lenses (any of them)?

    At least it is something.
  21. Re: What is the difference between Type 54 and Type 55 Polaroid?

  25. Re: What is the difference between Type 54 and Type 55 Polaroid?

Thank you! I think I had it figured out, Type 55 is ISO 50 and Type 54 is ISO 100. Type 55 gives also a negative and Type 54 does not (but I am not sure about this), Type 54 is coaterless (but I have...
