    Re: Arista Ortho Litho Help

Try the Rodinal and the development time in my post with a sheet of the Arista film for 3 ASA. Then let me know the results.
Try on a overcast day, if you can, so the overall contrast is less.
    The...
  2. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

The first X-ray film I got was via Forum members. This is medical stuff. Then I got a huge amount of Foma Indux R4 4x5, this is industrial use film.
It seems to be 6 ASA at best. I am still not...

    Re: Arista Ortho Litho Help

Are you after normal pictorial contrast?
If yes then maybe you should try 3 ASA, yes that low and develope for 3 minutes.
How much of that Dektol do you have? As our friends have said it is not...
  4. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Did anyone buy any of the Foma Indux R4 NDT x-ray film?
I am just wondering if anyone managed to lower it's contrast somewhat.

    Re: 4x5 X-Ray film

    UK Only. Sorry LabRat.

For the UK residents the minimum order is 2 boxes, thus 100 sheets.
  6. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

You should e-mail the seller at the address I gave in order to negotiate the price. Especially if you want several boxes of film.
Then you have to add on shipping of course, which is probably going...

    4x5 X-Ray film

    For UK-only postage.
Foma Indux R4 10x12cm in daylight Fomapak. Fifty packets per box.
The film is double-sided and appears somewhat orthochromatic.
    Contact: info@HexagonLimited.com. State that...
  9. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I regret the seller of the material has indicated UK only.

If anyone from the UK wants any of this film they have indicated a minimum purchase of 2 boxes (100 sheets).
    Interested persons ought...
  10. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Would any users of 4x5 like to obtain some x-ray film?
It is 10x12cm, so it does not need to be cut down. It is double-sided & apparently somewhat orthochromatic.
The film is in daylight packets,...
  11. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I didn't think THAT was possible. Looks like a orange filter on normal film.

Who made Crontex MRF 21 Plus?
Back in 2016 I obtained some from a member of this Forum, and it wasn't the Member I...
  12. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

andrew: The x-ray films are not sensitive to the warm end of the spectrum. Just about as far as green, but no further. It means the usual filters for B&W film do not apply.
  13. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

One thing I noticed about using X-ray film was that the speed, such as it was went off as the sun got lower. I assume it is because there is less blue light present.
In this shot of the hawthorn...
  14. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

What was the effective speed of the film used to take the shot of the Ford flathead V8?
I usually use Rodinal myself, but I have run out at the moment. So I have had to use Fomadon LQN dil 1+10....
  15. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

In the scene I was using as a test it was a garden on a cloudy day with the corner of a brick building with a white door frame. I don't think either film has any red sensitivity, so that brick is...

Re: Weegee fact or? 1/200 with flashbulbs?

Re: Weegee fact or? 1/200 with flashbulbs?

I was wondering about a lot of aspects of Weegee's technique.
In the back of my copy of Naked City Weegee mentioned that he used Kodak Super Panchro Press Type B. I have no idea about the speed (in...

    Re: Fomapan 200

Just raked through my little black book. I had 10 min 1:50, but that was for 35mm. I just wondered if 4x5 was any different.
I think the Fomapan 200 is about the best film I have at present. The...

    Fomapan 200

In Rodinal it is about 125 ASA, like FP4 Plus. What sort of time is best when diluted at 1:50?
Once I got that right I wanted to pull it 1 stop for 60ASA.
  20. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

OK. So I have received the film. It is in vacuum-sealed daylight packets sandwiched between two sheets of lead foil.
I am assuming that the film is coated on both sides, because I can't tell any...
  21. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Has anyone here used Foma Indux R4? It is intended for NDT use in industry & I know nothing beyond what is on the Foma site.
I have no idea of the sensitivity or the speed when developed to give...
  22. Re: "True film speed" vs just developing the film more?

That's what I was told: Exposure changes the shadows and development changes the highlights.

Fomapan 400 was not giving the stated speed on the box, because shadow detail was lacking.
    That is a...
  23. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

It is something that happens with the Fink-Roselieve tank if one tries to develope too many sheets of film at once. However, in this instance I was distracted from my duties.

  25. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

The film may be 100ASA, but is seems rather grainy. Is that likely to be because it is double-sided coating?
The image is taken from x 30x40mm dental X-ray film used for research purpose in getting...
  26. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I mentioned developing in Rodinal 1:200 for 6 minutes which I tried with dental X-ray film exposed in a 35mm camera. With the film developed in a tank I was agitating for the first 45 sec & then 15...
  27. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I have never done tray developing. If you knew a film took 6 minutes in whatever juice in a tank, then it would be the same or pretty close for a tray? I am assuming that the different agitation...
  28. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

It would take a very long time to read through four thousand posts to find those that involve Rodinal and X-ray film.
Those posts I have read mention a 1:200 dilution for 6 minutes or 1:100 for 4...

Re: Infos about 8x10 in. Carestream x-ray film

  31. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

  32. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

  33. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

    Re: using an aero ektar

Has anyone made images on D, E or F speed dental film?
