Re: How Many LF Formats Do You Use/Own?

    4x5, 5x7, 8x10, 12x20. It's got to be some kind of disease.

    Hmmmmm.....I'll play.
    1) That a print that you make with your hands using manual tools is different than a print that comes out of a machine because the energy comes from your own hands.

I wonder what happened to the old bear chariot? The last time I was in the valley I saw a new one made from custom welded steel plate, sort of like a huge Hav-A-Heart trap with a suspension...

Re: Just in case I win the lottery...

IIRC the rangers in YNP used to chauffer severely anti-social bears from Yosemite Valley into the Granite Creek area in hopes that a near sighted deer hunter would mistake one for a buck before it...

  14. Re: Camping suggestions on the west coast or western states?

For me a good camping trip isn't so much about what you take camping as much as it is what you leave behind at home or work.

    Re: Shooting in the rain

A black shower curtain liner will work for a waterproof dark cloth in overcast light.

  18. Re: Were the 1920's a good time for lens manufacture?

I don't know how they treated their employees back in the 20's.
i like to think they may have served beer and sausage and played polka music during the lunch hour.
Now that would be a good time!...

Re: What equipment is hard for you to find?

    5x7 film holders are scarce
Lens boards for Kodak Masterviews are even scarcer which is why I sold mine.
Slip-on filter adaptors in larger sizes (VIII-X) are scarce as hen's teeth.
