Mine was missing the focusing helicoid as well. I was able to get something into the hole and get it to focus. I also got it on a Graflex board I 3D printed. Seems to work well enough! Thanks!

The first portion mentions that the lens design is a GOE001 - which corresponds to this diagram in the back of the book. This design remains constant for all three descriptions.

Mine does go up to Goerz f/384, probably irrelevant but just to point it out.
So, I bought A Lens Collector's Vade Mecum, and this is what I found:

The 1895 Goerz catalog has something similar to what I have. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Dan! Many thanks for the information!
After Dan's comment I started looking and the lenses look similar - but I found nothing of the same design. I think you're on the money though.
Now, is this lens considered a Dagor? I read in the...
I mounted it on a Canham DLC45 and focused with Bellows just fine. When I look the lens apart I noted that removing the two small screws on each side of the barrel (rear, past the flange), the lens...
It's definitely pre-war, I'd suspect it's possibly pre-WWI even. That's an interesting theory, but in it's current configuration it's locked and there are distance indicators of some kind on the...
It Does have both sets of cells.
Hey everyone, I've been looking online and after finding a few bits of information I'm still stumped.
I know it's a 150mm, for a 12x16cm plate - but this lens has a focusing helicoid. I cannot...
Honestly - It's not needed. I get it, I researched the hell out of these before I shot my first plates. Went as far as to try to find historical documentation for vintage plates, then converted the...
Hey everyone! Keith replied last night.
I'd like to quote what he sent me, in case anyone else has this issue and searches for it in the future:
"DO NOT PUT ANY TYPE OF OIL ON THE FOCUS RAILS!...
Shamefully, I assumed he was no longer around. I'm getting used to finding dead ends and un-updated sites. I apologize and have reached out directly to him on Facebook. Lesson learned there!
Hey everyone, I've come into a Canham DLC45 with some damaged bellows. Apparently the previous, and now deceased owned, didn't fold it up correctly.

Noted, thank you!
Noticed that as well, I figure that the people selling the shutters by themselves know what they have and charge for it.
We do. I've used our contracted repair place for a CLA on an Optar and...
That seems to be what I am finding everywhere - "Great lens, shutter is shot" :D
I was looking that route and, just like you said, there is nothing worth chasing. I thought about returning it...
British Marked ones are Mount 370.
Hey everyone. I recently picked up a 203mm f/7.7 Ektar on Facebook marketplace. It turns out got the short end of the deal. The biggest deal is the shutter. It's the Graphic Synchro-Compur, and the...
Thanks, long time lurker, first time poster :-)
I've noticed RAFCamera before for their lens boards, but with this one I wanted to reduce the bellows draw, so I had a custom one made locally to me -...
Hey everyone, I have an oddball lens that I've come into possession of and I'm in need of any info I can get.
It's an Eastman Kodak Hawk-Eye Aerial f.4.5 - 254mm Lens, Serial Number 0276
I have...
