  1. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

So it was the red light. I developed it it in complete darkness and it turned out ok.

On another note, I developed a piece of Orth Litho 3.0 with the last sheet of xray and it came out blank,...
  2. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Okay thanks. I mean, would using 1:1 really cause it to be completely washed out like that? I'll try again I guess. The safelight i'm using is a large xmas light. Could that be affecting anything?
  3. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

    Yup thanks.

The film just says "medium speed" but I heard it's around 100 ISO.
  4. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

    Hey all,

I have an 8x10 camera which I've shot a few negatives and it has been a complete failure. I think I'm doing everything right but must have missed something. I've processed 2 negatives at...
  5. Re: Do they still make B&W 4x5 transparency/slide film?

Gotcha. Well I'll do some experimenting with your formula and let you know my results. That write up you put together is detailed and just what I was looking for. Thanks again.
  6. Re: Do they still make B&W 4x5 transparency/slide film?

Thanks Peter. These shots appear a little grainy and not super sharp. Is that the FOMA, lens, or reversal process?
  7. Re: Do they still make B&W 4x5 transparency/slide film?

Appreciate it! Could you recommend hypo mls for ilford delta?
  8. Re: Do they still make B&W 4x5 transparency/slide film?

Any way you could share the formula/process you use?
  9. Re: Do they still make B&W 4x5 transparency/slide film?

Aside from dr5, is there a loss of sharpness in the reversal process? All the B&W reversals I've seen have been relatively grainy aside from the dr5 stuff.
  10. Do they still make B&W 4x5 transparency/slide film?

I know they no longer make an 8x10 but is a 4x5 black and white transparency film still available anywhere?
  11. Re: Best approach for repro work where size reduction is required?

Ok thanks again Doremus. Can you recommend the sharpest 8 x 10 film that will pick up the most detail? Someone else referred me to X-ray film. What is usually used in process camera work?
  12. Re: Best approach for repro work where size reduction is required?

Are you saying that it would be possible for a 10x reduction in size with my G-Claron 150mm lens? Like if I wanted to reduce a four-foot-long poster to an 8x10 negative? Or would I need a larger lens...
  13. Re: Best approach for repro work where size reduction is required?

Are you referring to making the image larger? I'm trying to make the image half its original size. Maybe I'm confused.
  14. Reducing the size of a negative?

I know there are englargers, but is it possible to reduce the size of film negative?
  15. Best approach for repro work where size reduction is required?

I have a digital artwork that's 7 x 4 inches and I plan on printing it on transparent film at that size. I'm trying to reduce it in size to 3.5 x 2 inches so it fits on a business card. It will be...
