  1. Re: Dry Mounting Press / Change the Rubber carpet

Zinc plates are probably weights to put on top of the prints after mounting to help them cool flat.
  2. Re: What is the Most Difficult Large Format Photography

I would think LF macro work rates up there with the hard ones to do.
  3. Re: A foolish idea

It would work with the right film. You might try for some ortho copy film so you can develop by inspection plus the lower speed of the film makes for an easier time finding the right exposure which...

Looks like a good bit more driftwood washed in than last I saw the place. Composition gives pretty good depth to the shot.

    Re: Something I couldn't explain

You might notice the f number is expressed as f/ or a fraction. Thats because it is a ratio of the measured aperture to the focal length and it was found long ago that this gave practically the same...

Re: scrolling paper development - advice

A cellulose sponge does a decent job. You may want to use diluted developer to slow it down some to get the action more even. As far as the scrolling technique are you using anything as a spool for...

    Re: Opinions on grafmatic

One little detail Ive noticed is the septums have a slight pinch in the edge film track that hold the film sheets in place with friction. If the septum is too loose there the film tends to wander out...
  12. Re: Diagnosing over exposed band through the middle of negative

Take the back off and shine a flashlight inside the camera to check that. Then put the back on and take the lensboard off and do the same from the front. Somethings not tight.

Re: Photo Cart Based on an Old Golf Cart

I looked at those on ebay, looks nothing like the sherpa carts for hiking with cameras. They had bike size wheels and some could be collapsed a bit for narrow trails.

Re: Framing a darkroom against concrete wall

You might want to put the ridgid foam between the joists and caulk the seams. Then you could paint. The insulation will reduce the noise a bit and keep the dust down.

    Re: Brown glare on negatives

A picture of the negative would help. It may be an issue with the bleach or the fix getting weak. Extended times resoaking in the bleach and fix might make it go away.

  32. Re: Seized lens? C.P. Goerz Rapid Paraplanat II

Since the screw is out have you tried tapping the ring towards the back of the lens to see if it will slip off the barrel?
  33. Re: Seized lens? C.P. Goerz Rapid Paraplanat II

A hair dryer may do the job to heat it.
  34. Re: Seized lens? C.P. Goerz Rapid Paraplanat II

You dont want so much it gets on the diaphragm blades, so go easy with the oil. If it does break loose you may be able to finish the disassembly and do a proper cleaning.
  35. Re: Seized lens? C.P. Goerz Rapid Paraplanat II

Probably a bit of corrosion and dirt in the aperture ring. A drop of penetrating oil at the rings contact point to the barrel, use the stuff sparingly, and try to work it. If it doesnt break loose in...
  36. Re: Disastrous Consequences (solved: fog with Intrepid lensboard)

Makes me wonder why the copper clad FR4 was not used as the metal would make the board quite light tight especially if the extra coating is used.
