Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

That weight is probably a bit high. With the new dimensional weight system they use, you don't pay any extra until you get over 50 pounds, and I don't have a scale for weighing things over a pound or...

Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

The camera for William's new stand is sitting in my garage if anyone wants it. Couldn't find a taker for the set, so now we're having a Deardorff yard sale!

Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

Yours looks different from the one pictured in the reply, and from mine (which is the same as the one pictured, so perhaps you will be lucky and can slip a bolt under that raised part?

    When you...
  6. Re: Deardorff SC11 11x14 Studio Camera Front Assembly Photographs

I have an 11x14 SC 11 with an 11x14 back, and a rotating 8x10 back. My V8 8x10 back and 4x5 reducing backs fit into the rotating back, and I also have all the bellows extensions.

    I have the stand...
  7. Re: Deardorff SC11 11x14 Studio Camera Front Assembly Photographs

I really appreciate it, but that front looks completely different. I didn't even know they made a 14x14!

    Thank you for the offer.
  8. Deardorff SC11 11x14 Studio Camera Front Assembly Photographs

I am wondering if anyone would be willing to the front of their Dearorff SC11 off the camera and photograph, and better yet, measure each of the four panels that make up the mechanism? I would be...

Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

I don't think so, the base and uprights were painted black, but there was a lot of cracking and a little rust. I just really like green.

Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

Went with gun bluing solution. It worked well, and the uprights now have a satiny black finish. Will have to see how it holds up to wear. One of the hooks holding my lead weight broke today, but I...

Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

I wish I had taken the flanges off and noticed the threads before buying some replacement pipes at a steel shop. They were $$$ and likely now just scrap. Was trying not to cut down the original...

Re: Rebuilding a Deardorff 11x14 Studio Stand

Went and picked up the stand today. Four of us loaded it into the truck, but I had to unload it myself. We took the lead weights out, so it wasn't too bad.

I have mostly disassembled the stand,...

I am starting to rebuild an S11 I got from a colleague. Did you have success with having your bellows made?

Going to pick up the stand tomorrow!
