  1. Velvia 50 4x5 and 8x10 and Fujicolor 160NS Professional 120 discontinued

Fujifilm today announced that Velvia 50 4x5 and 8x10 and Fujicolor 160NS Professional 120 has been discontinued.
Sales are expected to end on these dates:

  2. Re: Lens boards for Wista 45D - same as Technica?

The photos explain it clearly. I used a distinctly low-tech approach to come to the same conclusion:
    1. I taped a piece of tracing paper on a Wista offset #0 board
    2. I found the center of the...
  3. Re: Lens boards for Wista 45D - same as Technica?

I was wrong, and Havoc is right. When used with a Wista field camera, lens boards with mounting holes offset down will shift the image down, while a board with a centered hole will center the image...
  4. Re: Focus Stacking with 8x10 Large Format Film...Ben Horne

You're right. For focus stacking, is front focusing better or rear focusing, given that both approaches would change magnification?

  5. Re: Focus Stacking with 8x10 Large Format Film...Ben Horne

Changing rear focus won't change magnification. Changing front focus will change magnification.

  6. Re: Lens boards for Wista 45D - same as Technica?

I can only reiterate that Linhof and Wista cameras are designed to use lens boards with holes offset downwards, and that such boards center the image on the film. The standard lens boards...
  7. Re: Lens boards for Wista 45D - same as Technica?

This is not correct. Unlike other cameras, Wista and Linhof Technika cameras need the offset to center the lens on the negative. Why the offset is needed is apparent from the design of these cameras....
  8. Re: Can I remove the lens panel section easily from the various Toyo rail cameras?

If you mean the square frame that holds the lens board, yes, it is held by the screws. If you want any Toyo G 4x5, 5x7 or 8x10 standards let me know.

  25. Re: Fujinon 90mm/f5.6 SWD rear element doesn't fit on a Wista 45SP - alternatives?

Actually, both types of bellows could be used without the special lens board. The one that allowed the use of the special lens board had a threaded ring to accommodate the board.

  26. Re: Fujinon 90mm/f5.6 SWD rear element doesn't fit on a Wista 45SP - alternatives?

The Wista wide angle bellows can be used with a 90mm lens on a flat board. A 75mm lens could probably be used with a recessed board. It extends to ~185mm, so a 180mm lens can be used at infinity. The...

    1. The Wista 45D (both the wood finish and black versions) and the 45SP have the "micro-swing" knobs. The SP has front swing, the 45D doesn't. They also share the same back with the clips on top.
