    I have seen where people have drilled sequences of tiny holes through the film retainers along the long sides of the holders...(the bars the film slides under).

    It appears to be light-struck, not a development issue.
    Does the stripe continue into the unexposed rebate edge of the film?
    If not, then it is probably an in-camera issue, such as the back not...

    It should be fine. Try some at box speed with normal development....then adjust as necessary.

    I shot some back in the day, developed in Dektol 1:3, but development time escapes me.
    Maybe the Massive Development Chart online can give you a starting point....

    B&J wooden cameras were all either gray or natural wood, to the best of my knowledge...someone probably painted it black. It looks great in black!

    If you're dead-set on 300mm for 4x5, there are Tele-Xenar 300mm f 5.5 Schneider Kreuznach lenses out there that require way less than 300mm of bellows extension for infinity focus, and MIGHT work on...

    Murphy's Law dictates that as soon as you have acquired the missing parts, a donor camera in better condition will show up for less money.

    The lab I worked at had Richcolor dip & dunk machines, with auto replenishment.
    19 liter batches of TMax RS developer.
    I was the mix guy....I ran my own negs through it, and they are holding up...
