    Re: Old Things,Farms,Barns,Buildings, Plus

I came across this old boat along the side of the road in the Westfjords of Iceland and just had to get a capture. Taken with a Fuji 250mm f6.8 on a Deardorff 8x10. It's a paper reversal print (paper...

I’ve been shooting “paper reversal prints” for a while now. Paper negatives that I bleach with hydrogen peroxide and develop into a positive image. I almost don’t shoot regular paper negatives any...

    Re: In Praise of 5x7... Post'em !

Paper negatives tend to crush any shadow detail, if you expose them to have nice highlights (which I did in this shot). It’s a balancing act. If you “overexpose” to preserve shadow detail, you can...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I actually like using ID-11, diluting the stock 1+1 for around 2 minutes but I find I need to mix the ID-11 and use right away and I find it hard to dissolve. My next tests will be with Rodinal at...

I really enjoy photographing along the shores of Lake Ontario - and I'm finally getting brave enough in my LF adventures to try out front tilt (seems way more important on 5x7 than it was on 4x5).

Thanks for your observations, Evan. That matches with what I’m seeing in that the mottling tends to be stronger in the overexposed areas of the image. I’m going to do some experimenting this aft.
