    Re: July Portraits

You should be excited. Great color palette! Noodles... Love it!!
  2. Re: E-Bay: What can I do If the buyer won't Pay?

Drew... if you haven’t done so already, it might be useful to read the entire article I provided a link to yesterday. Explains all conditions and caveats for unpaid claims and unpaid assistant. :)
  3. Re: E-Bay: What can I do If the buyer won't Pay?

That said, Drew... I generally pay for my “wins” within an hour. You’d love me as a buyer. :)
  4. Re: What's considered "high altitude" when it comes to UV filters?

It seems that altitude is just one factor in UV level. Right now I’m at near sea-level but experiencing an extremely high level of UV.

But if you’re asking the “ethical” question... a full week is what I’d allow even with daily reminders to pay......

Re: 210mm or 240mm for Portraits?

I use a Cambo SC-2 with normal bellows and a 12-inch Kodak CE for headshot portraits with no trouble at all.

Re: 210mm or 240mm for Portraits?

“ Secondly, for a newcomer to LF, would you recommend that I use a 210 or 240 for portraits? ”

That close enough to not matter.

210 or 300. Your 150 will be good for environmental portraiture....

Re: Photos are sideways... How to fix?

All sideways. I was testing because I though I remembered that choosing a smaller image size made the image display correctly. Don’t know what I was remembering since it clearly doesn’t work. Sorry.

Re: Fungus on antique Lens: Can it be fixed?

If it makes you feel any better, Drew, I have an old RR lens (not nearly as nice as yours) that has the aperture control lever (little knurled knob, it once was) snapped off. What’s worse... I...

Re: Fungus on antique Lens: Can it be fixed?

I’d consider it non-repairable. As Steven Tribe has said several times, there is a possibility of unrolling the brass lens holder, but if the brass has work hardened it will crack and break. I doubt...

Thanks Dan... very interesting additional info!
  19. Re: Cambo sc and Schneider 90mm f/8 Super Angulon Multicoated focus problems

Yes, setting up camera correctly is the first task. No other option was stated or implied. ;)

I’m well aware of your opinion on recessed board of Cambo, Dan. Maybe not “necessary” but it sure does...
  20. Re: Cambo sc and Schneider 90mm f/8 Super Angulon Multicoated focus problems

It also helps to use a recessed board.

Re: Lens and shutter combo check

Take a picture. Use a tripod and focus carefully. Look at negative with loupe. If it as crisp as you’d expect for the aperture used... you’re good to go.

eBay isn’t cash face-to-face; never has been. The handshake is missing. Both buyers and sellers need to establish that trust. eBay and PayPal are helping you in that regard.
