Certainly not the cheapest option, but my Arca F Field (141 rear Standard) can focus my 55 Grandagon-N with the standard bellows and still allows for some movements. I have a bag bellows but never...

I can’t find much info about the e-clip spec (other than what Bob and others have posted here and at other fora over the years), but does anyone know if the e-clip mount on the late model Technika...
Ok great, thanks. I thought the shutters might be “chipped” or similar so the controller would know some things about the lens. Good to know this can be done. Thanks again.
Thanks Bob! Yes, I understand the risk I would be taking regarding repairs.
Understood regarding the aperture control. What I meant was that if the shutter was preprogrammed for a focal length...
Sorry for digging up such an old thread... Bob, if you see this can you elaborate on what you would call short vs long? I am considering acquiring a used electronic shutter to use for a Schneider...
Was it possible to upgrade the II hardware to III? The seller just claimed “Precision II upgraded to III” and I read elsewhere that this was a firmware upgrade.
Another question..... are the film holders for the Precision line the same as the 646/848/X1/X5s? I thought they were but just saw evidence to suggest otherwise.
Thanks and thanks! Great to hear how happy you are with the Precision II, Mark. It actually turns out the unit I rent is an 848, not an X1. Looked the same to me! I think they are the same for 120...
An Imacon Flextight Precision II (software upgraded to III apparently) has come up for sale locally and I am considering purchasing it, but wondering if I am crazy... I will be scanning mainly 6x6,...
Thanks again. I rarely type APO (especially for APO-Sironar-S since there was never any other version of the S) although reading through this I am recognizing its importance.
Thanks again to everyone for the thoughts. I pulled the trigger on a 210 Sironar-S (in Copal shutter) so no monkeying around with shutters is necessary. I decided that the filter/compendium...
Thanks Leigh, Bob, and Oren for the thoughts. It’s great hearing from people that have used and/or own multiples of these lenses. The W would certainly cause a filter/holder/compendium crisis for me...
I may be wrong but I don’t think the Sironar-N covers 8x10 at infinity. According to the specs it comes up a few mm short (301mm), and I have found a thread where it was mentioned that it vignettes...
Yes, the extra coverage is for 8x10. Not much room for movements at infinity but any extra coverage will help for my intended useage.
Good point about actually testing the shutter speeds! I have...
Thanks again Bob. The Prontor Pro sounds great. Unfortunately I just missed a Sironar-S 210 in Prontor Pro at Badger Graphic...
Thanks for the reply Bob! I have a “plain” Sironar-N (Marked as MC and with “Sinar” engraved on the lens, although it is NOT branded as Sinaron S. Serial number puts it in the early 80s.
Can you...
I currently own a Sironar-N 210 in Copal 1 shutter and am looking at purchasing a Sironar-S 210 in Copal Press 1 shutter to replace it (for the extra coverage). I have never used a Copal Press...
Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions. I currently do a hybrid workflow with 4x5 (renting an Imacon scanner which taps out at 4x5) but am about to begin experimenting with a light table and digital...
I am currently shooting (and loving) 4x5, however have been contemplating a jump to 8x10 but am thinking that it may make more sense to just skip right to 11x14. Decisions, decisions....
My Panavision tent arrived (I am fairly sure it is a rebadged Harrison) and I think I agree regarding its suitability for travelling! It is way bigger packed and heavier than I thought; way...
Thank you Les! I took the workshop with Doug Hart in Rockport, Maine. The Harrison tents are going for considerably more than $80 but the Panavision tent I found was for less and may in fact be a...
Thanks Andrew! I have decided to go with a tent but the Harrison is too expensive in Canada right now. I just ordered a Panavision changing tent intended for loading 400'-800' 35mm motion picture...
Really? I actually bought bellows from a guy on eBay (possibly "that" guy?) and a tech told me there was no way to attach them. I never looked into it that hard and just assumed I couldn't do it......
Thanks Sirius!
Thanks Ari! I hadn't heard of Camtech before. Good to know there is a local resource. Think he could do a CLA of my Arca F-line? Some of the 0 detents are a bit off and one or...
Thanks! I've been eyeballing Harrison tents but thought it may be overkill. Reports of oily discharge and nasty smells scared me, but that is likely an environmental issue, and not likely to happen...
I began shooting 35mm in 2002, graduated to 120 in 2007, and had the itch to go bigger in 2010 or so. I had a false start with a late Linhof Technika III which needed a new bellows. There was a local...
I also only have 4 holders and so far it hasn't limited me whatsoever. Welcome to the forum. Seems there are a few of us in the GTA-ish area.
