    Re: Pin registration system preferences

Lachlan, I have a Condit punch for film that is adjustable for 4x5 up to 8x10 film and it uses 1/16 inch diameter pins. They are very snug fitting.

Re: Multiple Test Zones on one Sheet

    Re: Pin registration system preferences

I can see that it is reasonable that the 5108 is longer than the smaller models, and it also seems reasonable that the floor model and bench model of the 5108 would be identical so that parts are...

    Re: Pin registration system preferences

No, but the conversion kit doesn’t include one, so the spacing must be the same. I believe the bench model has a baseboard just as deep as the floor model, but not as wide. I may be wrong as I have...

    Re: Pin registration system preferences

The way the Devere enlarger holds the negative, the taped strip may work better because smaller pins in the rebate would require the pins go through the top glass too. I also have a 5108 and I have...

Yeah, but it keeps the moths away! I saw a photo of Kodak’s research darkroom with cedar duckboards, so I’ve been considering them, and one of their books suggests corrugated fiberglass roofing from...

  15. Re: Schneider Apo-Componon HM 150 would be better suited as a landscape lens?

The 90mm version was offered as a taking lens for digital sensors, I think the 150mm version was too, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

Re: Lee Push on Filter Alternative?

  18. An inexpensive LED enlarger head alternative

I tested out my Neewer 660 video light to see if it could function as an enlarger head. It would cover up to 5x7. I tested it against a standard color head for contrast and exposure times

The stuff you describe, corrugated plastic, is called coroplast. I use it as a gg protector on my 8x10 Sinar and to construct shipping crates for framed prints.

  35. Re: De Vere 810H - Lens questions among other questions...

The camera must have had a very large lens, because the hole for that flange is 4.5 inches across. Definitely bigger than a Componon-S or Rodagon. Maybe a longer focal length EL-Nikkor.
  36. Re: De Vere 810H - Lens questions among other questions...

I saw what looks like small mounting holes around the edge of this board. Perhaps this can be used as an adapter to hold the smaller 4.5 inch boards. I hate seeing you spend more on a lensboard...

  38. Re: De Vere 810H - Lens questions among other questions...

She said her DeVere board is 6 inches across. The boards for the 5108 is 4.5 inches. I measured mine today. Since she is unlikely to find a stash of 6 inch DeVere boards, I recommend she has one...
  39. Re: De Vere 810H - Lens questions among other questions...

No, the boards we have are 4 1/2 inches across. Have a local machinist make a flat board for you that allows the common Durst board to fit. That will be your least expensive option.
  40. Re: De Vere 810H - Lens questions among other questions...

If you have a custom board made, see if you can have it made as an adapter to hold Durst lens boards. They are cheaper and easier to find.

The board you showed in your photo a few weeks ago...
