    What is this antique thing?

I have reached a point in my life where I need to simplify and downsize. Been going through my old (antique) camera stuff to see what I might want to part with, and found this. It came to me with...

    Shipping heavy stuff

I have "been away" from the forum for a while. I see some changes, mostly very good changes. Anyway, I have come to a point where I must downsize. Much of what I have to get rid of is large.Big...

    Re: Efke film peculiarity

Yes, Kodak DID have paper sheets between the films at one time --a long time ago. Seems to me that Ansco did, too.

Re: Sinar Biocular Reflex Viewer too heavy?

Something isn't right. I have used the reflex viewer on my 4x5 for years --never had your problem. I would take the reflex unit off and do a little "exploring" to see if the back is loose or weak.

Re: Copal Sinar Norma stuck open

I am not sure about the older green shutter, but my new one has a connecting cable attached to the rear standard which keeps the shutter open for focusing, and closes it automatically when a film...

Re: cooling fan on Durst 138?

I "inherited" a durst 138 with a Lektra color head many years ago. The Lektra head was out dated equipment by the mid 1960's, but I continued to use it anyway. It had (I think) a 500watt bulb. The...

Can not speak for the baby monitors, but I have found the "heavy duty" batteries to be very light duty and of rather poor quality.

Many thanks for the comments. I realize that I probably worded the question wrong. I guess I should have said ---- does anybody care if a Volute shutter works or not, and would it affect your...

Isn't it a shame that our world has gotten so fearful. With proper training (adult supervision) why shouldn't children be allowed the joy of watching an image emerge in the developer? I was...

Re: Tri-X turns 60 this year

That brings back good memories. Tri-X Ortho was the greatest for doing those "rugged" looking portraits of men. I think I may still have a 1/2 box or so of Tri-X Ortho in 5X7 size tucked away on a...

I owned a,watchmakers bench at one time. In spite of the "catch net" I was still able to bounce small parts into the great unknown. I always figured in was inborn "clutz" factor.

    Re: 8x10 Grafmatic?

  28. What is so great about a converted Polaroid camera?
