...and now the next problem with this. I need a few plastic gears. Not anything high-load or high precision. But they have to be resistant to typical black and white chemicals. Seems like it should...

    Re: Sunny !6 Users Unite!

Well, it really isnít that complicated, although yes I suppose youíd need a spot meter. Meter the cat and youíre done. The film will handle the rest.

    People over-complicate exposure/development...
  8. Re: Does a new luxury 8x10 camera make sense in 2021?

Perhaps. I don't actually know much at all about Phillips cameras - except that Drew has one, so I was kind of trolling him a bit on that one. Busted! :D
  9. Re: Does a new luxury 8x10 camera make sense in 2021?

It’s not quite as outrageous as it seems at first. After all, the top line Linhofs are over 10k now (although they are excellent, and we don’t know if this 20k thing is any good). An 8x10 Ebony would...

    Re: Wide Lenses for 4x5 & 8x10: 90mm to 165mm

Thanks. I didn’t realize it was narrowed down to a specific span of serial numbers. Someone once told me 15xxxxxxxxx was safe but perhaps the problems were addressed way before that.

    Depending on...
  13. Re: Velvia 50 4x5 and 8x10 and Fujicolor 160NS Professional 120 discontinued

If I remember correctly “CB” said he was done when his Ciba stock fails. It has already shifted enough that there are certain images he will no longer print.

Did he even use Velvia? I’d be...

    Re: Wide Lenses for 4x5 & 8x10: 90mm to 165mm

If you buy a 110 XL make sure you get one without haze or whatever. Mine is very late production (which may or may not matter although I haven’t had any issues) but some people had problems with the...

    Re: TAP Plastics/Acme Plastics experience?

I’m always open to suggestions. For this particular application I don’t need precision but there are a few other things I’ve worked on that do require relatively fine tolerances and I don’t want to...

Thanks this is all good info. Looks like both places are good.

  19. Re: More detail from internegative or digital negative ?

Not sure there is a hard and fast answer. It will likely depend on how you go about each of these processes as there are quite a few variables involved either way.

    One benefit of doing it...
