    Re: Intrepid Enlarger Attachment

Did anyone get one of these? Could you let me know what voltage the timer input is? Reason I ask is my work space only has a 12v battery and I'm looking for a solution which doesn't involve an...

    Re: Rollei RPX 400 Reciproicty

FP4 is as good a place to start as any, with its massive adjustments I'm unlikely to underexposed any way. Thanks.

    Rollei RPX 400 Reciproicty

Any one got any experience with compensation factors for the newer RPX 400 from Rollei (Ilford(?)) for long (>30s) exposures?

Re: Diy ground glass focusing screen

I bought a Yankee from ecbuyonline and it was a huge improvement over the original gg on my ancient arca but it had an accident in my pack with my 150 and broke.

Re: Diy ground glass focusing screen

Would a drinking glass be flat enough? Just thinking back to my woodworking when we'd sharpen chisels with very fine sand paper glued to float glass less flat stuff caused issues.

Thats a good idea. Cutting glass can't be that hard.

Any one think of a good (cheap) source for the thicker tool glass?

Nice walk through. I'd been going to make a perspex screen for a project I'm working on but actually I might just try a proper one. Need to find the time to get down to the local glass supplier...

  20. Re: Experience with Atomic-X (sheet film used for the negative in New55)?

There is always the fall back of stand developing in Rodinal, It probably won't get the best from the negative but you'll get something scan-able. If wet printing maybe not.

  25. Re: Help Identifying a piece of ironwork attached to old field camera

Fairly sure it can't be, the opening at the rear where the bellows meet is only 4 inches square. Isn't quarter plate 4.25 inches?
  26. Re: Help Identifying a piece of ironwork attached to old field camera

I've had a prod and its held on with a nut and bolt the same size and thread as a standard tripod mount. I've removed it just now and the QR plate for my tripod fits fine so thats one less problem. ...

Ah, would it have run on a circular race?
  28. Re: Help Identifying a piece of ironwork attached to old field camera

    Thanks Jon

Yeah its a weird one, its almost a box camera but it doesn't have a shutter and can be focused. I'm guessing it pre-dates faster emulsions and would have used a hat for a shutter.
  29. Help Identifying a piece of ironwork attached to old field camera

I picked this up as a bit of winter project. Its missing the back or any film holders so I'm going to have to work something out there and the bellows are terminally moth eaten but I've been thinking...

  32. Re: How to measure and time long exposures at dusk or dawn.

The easy, expensive, option is to use Fuji films, Acros and Provia both have exceptional reciprocity response and need very little adjustment for very long exposures.

    Alternatively you can not...

Very nice Lucas and Issac. The colour in these look fantastic, when ever I try night shots in colour the white balance ends up all over the place. How much do you give Portra for reciprocity?

Why? Android has a bigger user base than iOS by some considerable margin.

For that much desired peace and quiet, turn on Airplane mode then re-enable bluetooth.

Many a good holiday, photograph, walk, cycle trip ruined by midges.
