  1. Re: Thinking out loud, why doesn't someone just 3d print a triple LF box?

I'm actually printing a 2 part box of my own design as I type this. PLA is very durable and as long as you don't leave it in the direct sun of summer, it shouldn't deform. Depending on how you...
  2. Re: Need Advice Re : First ever visit to South Rim of GrandCanyon in January

Are you sure you haven't confused that with Desert View? The image posted looks a bit like the eastern end of the canyon looking north.

Truthfully, the best views from Hermit's Rest (the trail...
  3. Re: Need Advice Re : First ever visit to South Rim of GrandCanyon in January

I worked at Hermit's Rest form 1991 thru 1992. Whatever "dirt road" you thought you were on was probably the employee and park service access. You would've driven past the manager's house, the...

    Re: Focusing cloth ?

The Wanderer cloths use adjustable elastic on one end. They’ll add snaps on request for an additional fee but I don’t find it necessary.

    Re: Focusing cloth ?

I'm a big fan of the Wanderer dark cloths. Hand made, weight-y but breathable and available in several sizes and styles. They're a little pricey but worth it.

I'm a big fan of Wanderer Photogear dark cloths. They're handmade in a variety of fabrics and sizes. They also make film holder cases in a couple of sizes and configurations.

  10. Re: Terrible smoke in Yosemite valley from Ferguson fire!

    Re: Wanderlust Distance Guide

A couple of things come to mind.

Color the distance markers with silver sharpie. It's a little sloppy but it does make the numbers readable. I found the marks to have a pretty usable range.

  18. Re: Alternatives to Travelwide ? > Linhof Technica Handheld Realistic ?

Honestly I haven't noticed a major difference in shots from my TW90 compared with shots from my Pacemaker Speed. What you're probably seeing is compression artifacts from the low resolution JPGs.

    Poll: Re: Wanderlust 4x5 P&S

I've found that the amount of whining tends to be inversely proportional to the amount of money "invested" in a given crowd funded project. The SnapPower outlet cover is a perfect example; $15 for...
  23. Re: PetaPixel post about recent photo related KS projects

Only backers get to see this update. Have they back tracked on the "direct positive" spin they keep throwing around yet?
  28. Re: Galaxy paper offered for direct positive processing

I really wish they'd stop referring to it as "Direct Positive" paper. It's not. To continue to call it that is disingenuous at best and an outright fabrication at worst.

That 135mm block would be godsend for those of us that have extra 135mm Graflex/Wollensak Optars. Much lighter than my Pacemaker, and the Optars are dirt cheap.
