    Re: Digital IR

    Well done, Jon!

I've been told to shoot with the sun at my back for best IR results. Seems to hold true most of the time.

Here's a couple from today, I was playing around in LR and thought...

Thanks, Jon. It's a relief each time I do the channel switch and I actually get a good, healthy-looking blue sky.

    Re: Digital IR

Thanks, Sandy. I only shoot in RAW, and the preset Isaac made for me also takes care of the color hotspot.
I'll be trying a new Tamron lens next week, the 17-28. It is supposed to be hotspot-free,...

    Re: Digital IR

Thanks, Jon. Does this mean you're getting no color cast outside the sky areas in your photos? Or does removing those take a bit of extra work?
I didn't do anything else to these photos just to see...

    Re: Digital IR

Finally got some imaging issues sorted out. I was getting unusually strong cyan in all my skies, and an equally strong color cast in the rest of my images.
And I discovered that the Tamron 24mm lens...

    It looks great, Jon.
I've been having a lot of trouble with my color IR files. I'm going to work on settings today.
Apparently it's best to do the channel swap in sRGB, and my camera needs a new...

    Nice image indeed, Peter.
For those interested, Photoshop 2021 has a "Select Sky" button. I didn't know about this until now.
Enormously helpful in many ways, and a godsend for color IR.

    Re: Digital IR

Right, Jon. For B&W, I had LR set up so it would apply most of the need changes upon import (lens profile, de-saturate, WB, etc), freeing me to apply finer corrections.
PS is only for Channel Mixer...

Just got my A7r cameras back from Isaac Szabo, one converted 720nm the other to 830nm.
