    Re: post your urban landscapes

I like the way the blue, in the windows, contrasts with the brighter tones, of the building. It's nice to see large format color work!

    Re: post your trees!

Nice, did you use a filter to help "define" the clouds (especially in the upper left)?
  5. Re: Panoramic Format (6x12 ~ 6x17, etc) B&W only.

Nice, the textures of the rocks and "cabins" are well-defined. The bush, out front, gives a "hint of IR" without being overpowering. Did you use a 720 filter? I have a roll of Rollei IR that I'm...

    Re: 6x17 Images

Thank you! The grain is much less obtrusive, than I was expecting. I saw few Youtube videos about Pan 100, and the presenters were mentioning how big the grain was. But, to be fair, they were using...

    Re: 6x17 Images

Beautiful, I'd be happy with your "test" images any day! ;) What is the grain like, when developed in 510-Pyro? I usually shoot 35mm, but like you, I tend to use Acros II "for real." However, based...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Thanks, for the explanation. I had a mental picture of a very remote place, with nobody around for several miles/kilometers.

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

This image has a very ethereal feel to it, which makes you stop and think. Does this area have this feeling, when you're there, in-person?
  12. Re: MF (6x4.5,6x6,6x7,6x9,6x12) B&W film images sharing

A very interesting perspective that we (or least I) don't normally see. How far away is the Atlanta skyline, from where you took the photograph?

Personally, I prefer the Ortho 80.
  14. Re: Aviation photos on small and medium format

    Those are absolutely beautiful!
  15. Re: Aviation photos on small and medium format

Really nice image, Embdude! Unfortunately, I have never had the chance to do air-to-air imaging.
  16. Re: Aviation photos on small and medium format

Here's a shot of the Liberty Aviation Museum's 1928 Ford 5-AT-B Tri-Motor. Nothing like experiencing three radial engines, in-person. Shot on 35mm Fuji Velvia 50.

I know it's not the film you were asking about, but if you cannot find 5x7 Provia 100F, Ektachrome 100 is available in 5x7.

    Re: post your trees!

Me, as well! I tend to have issues with loss of detail. If I go for the shadows, the highlights lack separation, in the upper values. How'd you meter this scene?

    Re: Portraits from 2023

Another possibility could be using a faster film, such as TMAX 400, or Portra 400. You'll gain extra speed, and the reciprocity characteristics are better. Additionally, these films are true ISO...

    Re: post your trees!

An absolutely beautiful image, with great tonality! I love the way the trees, at the edge of the water, stand in sharp contrast to those that they overlap.
  36. Re: Images from vintage glass plates, any size

Wow, I'm somewhat surprised. I tried some Kodak Plus-X pan roll film that expired in 1952, and the whole was a dark brown/black color...no images, edge markings, anything.
  37. Re: Panoramic Format (6x12 ~ 6x17, etc) B&W only.

Was this in the Pacific Northwest (of the USA)?
