Re: How to use half-frame dark slide?

I never use the half 8x10 darkslide I made because i wasted too much film not knowing how much, if any of the film had been exposed when the full darkslide was in place. Now I expose the full sheet...

Can you post a picture of the light head currently on the enlarger. That would help figuring what is missing.

    Re: Canham DLC45 Bellows Damage

That looks like a huge bellows for a 75mm lens. Unless you are doing macro or planning on using 300mm and longer non-tele lenses, you might consider getting a shorter or even bag bellows.

  23. Re: 305 G-Claron As W.A. 11x14 Enlarger Lens?

In the big picture of things, large format photography is not very common. Likewise nothing mentioned here matters.

The motor is under the top cap. You can check for voltage up there, realizing the motor is on all the time, but locked not moving if the buttons are not pressed.

Re: Cheap 4X5 Cameras are Everywhere

The only way to expose 4x5 is with a 4x5 camera. So a 4x5 camera would only be useless to a non-photographer, or someone too lazy to use it for what it was intended ( to expose 4x5).

Re: How to learn a type of film?

"Knowing" the film is knowing how it prints and how it responds to your meter settings. The best way to rapidly learn is to print the images the night they were exposed.
