A: is sold today for $362,989!
Both are silver prints 48x61". Looks like print costs itself $989 + Mr Avedon's signature for $362,000
I meant the value of the *original* paper prints (not those snapshots shown)

They really do, but who cares?
The FINAL PRINT matters, not the pieces-sizes-type of glass-film-camera combinations which someone used to make it.
If someone use 4x5 it doesn't mean that print...
I have USA V700 and it has **110V** external adapter, (it's not universal adapter like notebook's one for 90-240V) You can't use it in Europe without additional transformer 220V->110V. Otherwise you...
Those are not questions in commercial shooting, I think, where customer's art director set guidance in front of the photographer: we need film/digi, special lighting at that angle etc, but in best...
bigger max aperture is always better (even stopped down), at least in photography ;)
this was done with 8x10 i guess? saw this Karsh work today at AIC for third time.
Archiving, right? So the priority should be the quality: you scan them once to pass this valuables negatives as e-files for those humans who will follow. And your goal should be get all possible info...
BTW, where is nice comparison of the prints from 1DsMIII and 20x24 camera at http://photo.net/equipment/canon/1Ds_markIII/ I didn't hear so far that Elsa quit making portraits with her 20x24 after...
Personally I enjoy work of Avedon, Penn, Karsh, Leibovitz and other masters of film and digital. IMHO Pellegrin has the style but still step below Leibovitz. She is definitely master of color digital...

Just browsed all Ilford film data-sheets and they all says: "A pre-rinse is not recommended as it can lead to uneven processing."
Nick, thank you, that's exactly what I'm planning to try.
Gentlemen, do you have some free cash to burn?

I have more things to carry with me than film sometimes :D
My apologies for shooting :) I prefer to shoot 8x10 film and digital, not persons. My apologies again.
I'm in US. I buy Tri-X from B&H for $41.95 + shipping, it's the cheapest place for Tri-X in US.
So I need to found the same reputable source of 8x10 film in Europe, once I travel and live in...
Fotoimpex - it's not serious. They want $70+shipping for 10 sheets of T-MAX 8x10.
But if ordered from B&H including shipping to Europe and import tax will be $68 total.
Any other normal...
Any mail-order stores recommendation in Europe for 8x10 Tri-X, HP5, Bergger, Arista, Efke etc film supply? Thanks
I visited it two times already.
16x20 prints are magnificent, 3-dimensional look with deep dark backgrounds and subtle backlits.
Churchill, Eisenhower, Hemingway... you can almost feel them in...
I use 11x14 trays. Once I tried to change vertical/horizontal but got scratches. I'll try again more carefully. Thank you.
Actually this uneven "stains" are completely different in shape and position. Only in common that they are always in highlights.
I use gloves to develop, and unload from holders touching only rim...
I also think that this could be an issue with uneven initial contact. I added each sheet separately to the developer after 3-4 minutes in presoak , "inserting" long side first at about 45 degrees and...
I developed my first sheets of 8x10 Tri-X. Totally 9 sheets, I did 2, 3, 4 sheets in batch, in trays with 3-4 minutes presoak, I tried XTOL (1:1) 7 minutes and I tried HC-110 4 minutes. I used night...
