    Copal 3 Shutter Anomaly?

According to the information on the SK Grimes website, Copal 3 shutters have a mounting thread of 62mm, and Copal 3S shutters have a mounting thread of 61mm. I have a lens in a shutter that is...
  3. Re: Are LF accessories compatible between brands? Looking for a reducing back

It’s pretty straight forward to modify an 8x10 reduction back to what you need. I modified a Shen Hao 8x10 to 4x10 reduction back to fit a Deardorff V8. It was easy to do and worked great. Any...

  6. Re: Removing a 21" Kodak Ektanon from a Prism

You need a set of jeweler's screwdrivers: https://www.harborfreight.com/16-piece-precision-screwdriver-set-4143.html

You can find better quality elsewhere, but these will work.
  7. Re: Removing a 21" Kodak Ektanon from a Prism

Another option that has worked well for me is a strap wrench. Same idea as William's. You can get them inexpensively from Harbor Freight: https://www.harborfreight.com/search?q=strap%20wrench.

Re: 450mm lens with 420mm bellows draw?

Use a “top hat” extension lensboard the has a tube that extends the lens about 100mm. I like the Ebay seller jinfinance (no relation, just reliable and good quality).

Re: Redwood grid for Darkroom sink.

I used a material called Dri-Dek and is used on the floor behind bars. I found it at a local restaurant supply, but I’ve seen it on EBay. Works great.

Re: Gitzo 1349 Mountaineer Sticky Leg

Over time they get junked up and worn. I clean mine every now and then.

Ditto on Kent’s analysis. Probably just needs a clean. Good tripod; it’s what I use most of the time.

What is the object that looks like a white cylinder coming out of the side of the Zone VI enlarger?
  26. Re: Model name of your large format enlarger please

Two Zone VI Type II enlargers: one 5x7 and one 8x10. The 5x7 has a Type I motorized focus control adapted to the Type II enlarger.

  27. Re: Question about lens boards and Copal 3 shutters

Look for a recent review of Linhof-type lensboards on this forum. I believe a conclusion was that Luland boards were good quality and not expensive. I believe thickness was measured also.

Re: Enlarger Dust Cover for Beseler MXT/45S

Seems to me that when you remove a “dust cover” you’ll send a lot of dust into the air. Sorta defeats the idea. I just leave my enlargers uncovered and clean them frequently.
