I have never seen a MkVIII with side levers but to be honest I don't know for sure. I understand that some parts from damaged cameras, including front standards c/w bellows, could be reassembled to...
You're very welcome, glad to be of help. It can be a bit fiddly but I guess that's why the designed changed to the front levers, much easier.
In the interests of thread continuity these are similar images from my MkVII camera which does have the side release levers.

Ok, to get at the lever pivot points:

Drop the bed to it's normal position then press the release levers again to lower the bed to it's full dropped position shown above.

Is it the 'stiffness' of the two thumb levers(see photo) that is the issue or sliding the standard along the bed?

Bear in mind that the two levers have to overcome the strong springs...
Surely you mean 15 slots for 15 lenses Greg, or is there a photo missing? Sorry but can't help with the identity but you could have some fun with them.
Welcome from me too and to the world of LF photography Murgo. I've shoot a lot of 5x4" Fomapan in both iso 400 and 200 (my favourite) and also develop them in Pyrocat HD. You have discovered that the...
That is the way it is designed to be used, check the instruction booklet. Personally I think it's awful and never use it.
The best rendition of moving water I have seen in many a year, wonderful.

It seems the film has to be loaded with the emulsion side outwards so that you can put your fingers and thumb all over it? How...
Wonderful idea and a great picture Corran.
Good luck with your attempt 1erCru. I have been using the SP-445 tank since it the V2 holders came out and after hundreds of films I've never had one that had the 'shadows' of the bars that, unlike...
I'm not sure what you mean, are you referring to the 7 small film retaining tabs on the front of the holder or the longitudianal bars of the body of the holder?

As you're only at the other end of the country why not pick up the phone and give them a call. :)
That's a possibility. If you load the frames with the film notch at the top then the damage would be at the other end of the sheet if your scenario is correct - easy to check on your neg. :o
I've processed hundreds of sheets of film, including FP4, in my SP-445 without any of the reported tank-related issues and I can't imagine how this particular problem could have happened using the...
One of the Kickstart options was supposed to be delivered at the end of May but the word is that it had been delayed to mid-late June.
I was rather taken by the three phases of this lily all nicely arranged on the stem so bearing in mind my sensitivity to the pollen of these blooms I donned a face dust mask and managed to capture...
A nice colourful image Pali, are you sure this wasn't taken in my garden? ;)
As a contrast I am always drawn to the elegant simplicity of these lily buds and can't resist making images of them....
Amazing! I wonder if the architect had any idea what he was creating?
...From Process Supplies £30-00 UKP for 500g but they will only send this by an overnight courier
I missed this Pete, that's a good price even with the £9.50 (I think) courier charge
£24.45 (approx 33 USD) + shipping per 100 grams is the price quoted today from Wet Plate Supplies here in the UK.
I did Larry and I actually found a couple of suppliersd of 33/400 caps but they were wholesalers and the minimum order was 2,500! Now old I may be but I'm not that forgetful, now, what was I saying? ...
Has any user of this tank here in the UK found caps that will fit the Stearman SP-445 developing tank, perhaps from a soft drink bottle etc? I had a mini panic today when I couldn't find one of mine...
