    Re: Darkroom vs Scanning

Funny side note - If I had just been shown one print, I would have purchased it. Having three available provided the opportunity to compare and contrast!

I get this. Years ago and after collecting photographs for many years, I decided I wanted to purchase my favorite Ansel Adams print in a 16x20 size. I went to three galleries in California only to...

I'm sure you considered this but is that a 240V/50Hz machine? The replacement parts might be an issue here.
  4. Re: Need advice on purchasing an expensive darkroom item from Germany to US

My experience is that the rules really only changed in the Canada/US/Mexico environment. We still import/export in North America and there have been some changes there but nothing internationally...

Your comment about why we shoot analog and inject digital into the workflow is something of a lesson I've learned over the years. I purchased a big Hassy system with a 50mb back on it years ago when...

Re: Sheet metal flatness / availability

Metal is subject to several factors when it goes through the manufacturing process and as a result, you'll see not only "flatness" issues (relative from point to point) but often surface anomalies...

Re: Enlarger table in 80/20 aluminum?

Great information. I appreciate it. I have a local supplier that sells long sticks but noticed that Amazon prices are actually quite good and have free shipping. I'll check out Grimes as well.

Re: Enlarger table in 80/20 aluminum?

Thanks. I wasn't used to having 80/20 referred to as a 'metric' product given how it is measured normally. I'm playing with designs now in Solidworks to check for rigidity.

Re: Enlarger table in 80/20 aluminum?

Where do you get the off-shore metric extrusions in low volume? Given what it costs to build out the darkroom, I'm not sure the savings are a huge concern.

Re: Photo Flo In Presoak OK for PMK?

My understanding is that Photoflo is a surfactant and as a result, would be a bad idea. Reducing the surface tension in a developer doesn't really have a purpose.

  33. Re: question re metering for zone III and overexposing HP5+ a little
