    Re: 4x5 B&W development - no processor

I don't think the MOD54 has been mentioned yet. Fits in a Paterson tank. The MOD54 unit is a little overpriced for what it is, but not unreasonably so.
Works great if you have average fine motor...

Re: Red Bellow vs Black Bellow

Red attracts more attention in the wild - "more" is relative - of course. Not as if large format cameras were ever inconspicuous.
In the studio it probably doesn't matter.
  6. Re: Moving to Spain. Can I send my negatives in the container?

You don’t know where the container will be placed on the ship. If you have seen a container ship you know what I mean. In my experience, shipping companies don’t insure against damage from humidity...
  7. Re: Gallery owner arrested for forged and stolen Ansel Adams photographs

Bob Dylan apparently also used photographs as "inspiration" for his paintings:

Re: First exposure with Frankenstein 200

I don't think it is particularly difficult to mark the bottle of mixed fixer for each film/roll/sheet processed and gradually extend the fixing time until the manufactures limit for the solution is...
  11. Re: Getting back into 8x10, would a cheap Intrepid Satisfy?

All used equipment comes with a risk, and if you need to pay in order to address any unexpected problem, that money is not recoupable when you resell.

All new equipment will lose in value when you...

Re: Need box/tent to load 4x5 film

It is a good point. It may, although I haven't experienced it.
I use a glossy coated box (some electronic device came in it) and taped the cut edges where debris would potentially come from. It...

  16. Re: A little more Intrepid news (es bueno news)

Just to balance things off here. They over delivered in my case, I had my camera in hand weeks before promised at order time.

The base tripod mount is often mentioned and is indeed a design flaw,...

  18. Re: A little more Intrepid news (es bueno news)

Incremental improvements presented like a review by an inexperienced influencer as if it was a revolution - and I had to watch ads on top of that!?

Re: Gossen Luna Pro Repair Question

  21. Re: Traveling by Air In July: How should I handle LF Film?

No - my comment was directed at JP. It is often repeated that checked luggage scanners are particularly bad, but I have never seen any evidence that it should be worse.

Re: What's With the Rodinal? Can't Find Any

Re: LF Loupe vs regular 35mm lens

  27. Re: [Newcomer] How should I measure exposure for nighttime portraits?

I think there is a good deal of overthinking in your approach.

Re: a heads up for Intrepid shooters

    Thanks Rick.
The reason for asking which surface the adhesive slipped from, is that the black Intrepid is 3D print material whereas the standard model is wood.
It may be helpful to the Intrepid...

    Re: Faulty Light Meter

Agree. The 1/15 F16 at 125ISO off a gray card in direct sunshine is wrong.

No need to do test shots. You know sunny 16 so you know the L-478 is way off.

The L-308 readings sounds more in line...
  35. Re: How to finish, wash and dry fibre paper prints for exhibition and sale

I find "dry-mounting" destructive and would never pay a premium for a dry-mounted print.

Re: Godox Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash

    Sure looks cool.
I wonder if the reflector is big enough to shape the light in a way that is noticeably different from a regular camera flash?
  39. Re: Refinished LF Wood Camera 'coating' Melting

Acrylics can take years to cure.
I have experienced painted acrylic surfaces that would stick to other plastics 3 years later.

You are not exactly generous with details.
I have actually no idea what you are talking about.
