    Re: Linhof Serial Numbers

Sorry, it has to be a war time production, no record of a lll with that number. Could be the Medcin.
  2. Re: 120mm WA-Rodagon optical performance at low magnifications?

Why not send them an email, through their site, and ask them?
  3. Re: 120mm WA-Rodagon optical performance at low magnifications?

If you were to compare the results of the Rodagon N at less then 4x the WA would lose. Over 4x the WA would win.

Re: Elsa Dorfman passed away this morning

    Sad!

Wonder what will happen to the camera?
  5. Re: How much detail is lost enlarging a 4x5 negative to 8X10

Going through a lens to duplicate a negative or transparency or to make a print will always result in some loss.
  6. Re: How much detail is lost enlarging a 4x5 negative to 8X10

Should work. But it came out of a piece of equipment so it might also have been set for a specific image ratio. And, without knowing what it came out of, you canít know what that image ratio is.

What do you suppose ďthis lens is fixedĒ means?

    Re: Used gear and availability

I know that both companies are in business and making cameras. While other companies like Sinar went bust and were bought by Leica but donít make large format any more. While Linhof and Arca still do.

    Re: Used gear and availability

You will never find a TechniKardan RE. There is only the original TK and the current TK S.
Maybe you are looking for a Kardan RE, a completely different camera.
  11. Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

They donít. Look for Novoflex Patron to see what it is.
  12. Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

Novoflex makes an umbrella that attaches directly to a backpack strap. It is also an adjustable length hiking stick and easily converts into a shooting blind with an accessory kit. Since it is silver...
  13. Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

Maybe you should consider this about the Pentax if you are going on a 2000 mile hike:

ď... The camera is completely battery dependent. Power is provided by a 6 volt PX28 (originally...
  14. Re: Lee Filter Hood With Linhof Master Technika?

Then the factory should welcome your answer.
But as the Linhof Product and Sales Manager from 1970 till 2014 no one ever complained about not having a side tripod socket.

    But then why would John...
  15. Re: Vertical Photos With Linhof Master Technika Question?

Not on a Technika since the lll.
  16. Re: Lee Filter Hood With Linhof Master Technika?

Then instead of expounding on it here why donít you take 10 minutes and tell the factory?
  17. Re: Lee Filter Hood With Linhof Master Technika?

Never needed to on a Technika, a Wista, a Graflex or a Deardorff.
I did it with the proper tripod head. Much faster and safer then removing and switching the camera over.
  18. Re: Lee Filter Hood With Linhof Master Technika?

Instead Linhof has a second one on top under the accessory shoe.

Re: Light Leak: what went wrong?

The later Fidelity Elite holders had a problem with Linhofs. They had a very sharp bottom edge that would hang up when inserted into the back and make you think that they were properly placed. After...
  20. Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

Did you ever meet Mary Ellen Mark? She was quite small, but used the MT hand held with no problem.
  21. Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

This answer is a bit confusing. The RF was cammed for those 3 Nikon lenses but service can adjust it for other brands as the flange focal lengths are different.
The MT can be cammed for lenses from...
  22. Re: Vertical Photos With Linhof Master Technika Question?

Do you have infinity stops properly installed for the 150?
Are you using the correct bed position?

You apparently have either the front of the bed, should not interfere with a 150.
    Or perhaps...

  24. Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

You just described the Linhof Master Technika.

    Re: Aperture indicator not aligned

You can be sure itís accurate unless someone remounted the lens cells into another shutter. Then the scales would be wrong if that shutter had scales from a different focal length lens.

    Re: Aperture indicator not aligned

    Sounds normal.
Shutters donít know what lens will be on it. Thatís why aperture scales are screwed onto shutter while shutter speeds arenít. It isnít at all unusual for the aperture to open slightly...

    Re: Tripod "max load" meaning

There's clearly a pattern here. All the experienced people (i.e. those who have had camera + tripod fall over) don't use tripods at their stated max. We want considerably more than that. In...

Re: Would this make a good loupe?

A Rodenstock 4x Aspheric or a Schneider 4x would be better. So would the Wista 5x as well as other ones from Eschenbach.

Re: Linhof vs Berlebach for Sinar Norma

Berelbach now has a cam controlled 5 angle leg spread control on ones made over the last 5 years.
Linhof leg braces are disengageable on most models and adjustable on a couple of models.

  40. Re: A new focal plane meter? DLG Electronics

That depended on the version of the Sinar back. The Sinar probe was the Gossen and the original version did displace the gg.
