Re: Back to basics - newbie developing help

CK, the camera was completely overhauled by Bob at Precision camera last fall, I would be shocked if there were any light leaks, it's like brand new. I'll try the test Doremus suggests just the same...

Re: Back to basics - newbie developing help

Ok, I have a few quick scans (a digital snapshot inverted, changed to B&W, did a quick level adjust in PS and exported for web) that illustrate the problem. I'm getting light leaking in somehow, but...

Re: Back to basics - newbie developing help

I doubt it. Both lenses I've bought have been sent to Rod at Arca Swiss USA for a thorough check, shutter speed test, and mounting on a lens board. They both look and work as new.

Koraks, I am indeed using the center column for the reason you state. I've been storing holders on my desk (in a pretty dim room), although the ones I developed last night were from a weekend shoot,...

I took a few 4x5's last weekend on the same theme, but have been having challenges with developing. One of the sheets might be salvageable, if so I'll scan it and put it here.

    Nice shots! I have a...

    Beautiful Dave!

I love the delicacy of the sky juxtaposed with the sharpness and detail of the grain.

Re: Arista EDU Ultra 100 vs 200?

Just developed a batch of 100 and 200 (of the same subjects at the same settings) to compare, and cannot, because *they have the same notch code*. Who thought that was a good idea???

Back to basics - newbie developing help

    Hi,

I'm a year or so into 4x5 and am still getting problems on my negatives, and am not sure what the problem is. I've been developing my own B&W for 20+ years and have never had an issue getting...
  11. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

As I recall from a recent exhibition at The Getty, Sally Mann also had vignetting in quite a lot of her shots. She explained that she had gear that had been given or gifted to her, or bought cheaply...

Re: My Set Up for Film Holder Labels

I label each film holder 1A/1B, 2A/2B, etc and use color coded tape for each set of 8 (I think it's 8 that comes in a Toyo box package), so I have red, yellow, blue, for chrome, negative, and b&w. I...

Arista EDU Ultra 100 vs 200?

Still lamenting the loss of APX100 (and Plus-X), I note that Arista EDU Ultra 100 (i.e. Fomapan 100) is a traditional cubic grain film with decent silver content and a somewhat similar curve. I've...

I use the wide hood, it has slots for 2 or 3 filters, works fine. A bit pricey, but I expect I'll have it for the life of the camera, if not longer.

One thing I do wonder, do people mount the...
