I'd put all of these equally on 1st place.

I have a masters degree in music and it payed off without a student loan. I made enough money (teaching) during my 7-year education to spare my parents paying for it.
I quit being a professional...
13x18cm holders are easier to find than 5x7" holders, but the film will not be readily available across the ocean!

Hi suchar, joncapozzi,
less than 300 Euro (not dollar...) for the 8x10 and 7x17, including filmholders for the last. Bellows for the 8x10 are from ebay (very lucky with the price...) and for the...
have a look here:

those are my homebuilt cameras.

Another one here.
It keeps unwanted passers-by at a good distance.

I did, some years ago and plan to do it again in about 50 days!
Congrats, Jiri.

Bill,
that statement is incorrect. Just trust my word on it. Good timing and adequate pressure with the finest grits make the gg more transparant than with coarse grit.
Also, if you read some...
and the option "feed them to the dogs".
I dropped 5x7" because it was only a very limited used format inbetween 4x5" and 8x10"... with all respect to the users of 5x7". There are certainly many...
Then you apply too much pressure with the finer grain.
Coarse grain can have 15Kg, with the finest grain I only apply about 3Kg.
Aluminium oxide is also more prone to scratching the glass than...

I have a fixed price for a portrait session, including 2 prints, so I'm always counting on selling some extra prints outside the package I offer.

You're overrating Frank ;-)
Jim Gali has way too much cameras. I propose that the sends a camera to every 10th replier in this thread.
I only shoot 3:
4x5
8x10
7x17
and use them regularily, i.e. at least once a month.

You are mis-informed. Dave (Parker) did not use acid, but also abbrasives.
Kind regards,

this was definitely NOT shot by Weston in any way:
Yes they will fit, at least the ANSI standard plasic ones.
Brands in plastic holders are basically the same: Lisco, Fidelity,...

Thanks Brian, it needed a lot of work in the darkroom.

I might have posted it elsewhere, but here it is (again)

Gossen Spot-Master. Great stuff.
Downside: it eats batteries, about 1000 individual meter readings with a 9V battery.
But most of the time, I content myself with a really simple selenoid...
Some months ago, I ripped the 2 lights of an AGFA Repromaster and those are now permanently pointed toward the concrete ceiling.
Besides those, I use a 250W builders light with a quite large...
Ash,
you can use builders (halogen) lamps and bounce them on white foamcore or the ceiling as needed. Works like a charm for B/W. Output control is by placing them closer of further away.

Hi Rick,
there are no specific tripod regulations in Belgium. Just take care that you still allow people to pass when setting up on a sidewalk.
In churches, it's best to ask permission first. A...

Congratulations to Michael and Paula for their efforts in making this kind of paper available again.
I'll be in for ordering next year!
Kind regards,
Geert
You think so? Only in Belgium, there's at least 15 shops that carry LF film. 9x12 is not a standard size anymore and will be on special order.

Thanks Bob,
now I know why there's an extra aperture scale on my 210 Sironar!
Having experience with vonverting old Symmar lenses, I'm not tempted to use it that way. Too soft.

Hey Ole, you stole my reply! :p ;)
Go to sleep now, it's 1:13 AM morning here and also where you live! Or are you going to watch the Olympics too at 3:30?
Seriously, I based my reply on these...
Jeffrey,
You're also right about that, but leather bellows are permeable up to a certain degree. Also, ther's plenty of gaps in an LF camera that allow air to pass but block the light (think about...
Robin,
the other way'round is also possible, if your tripod is set up so you can see through the lens: with the lens stopped down at the desired aperture, look through the lens to the back of the...
