The 4 mil black plastic that lumber yards sell is ir proof up to about 16 or 1800nm. Way above the sensitivity of the film. A boot that covers the bellows might look kinda redneck, but such is...
A limit switch has moved in all likelihood. Don't forget to unplug it before opening. If the faceplates are held by screws it'll be easy to get into. If it has pop rivets you'll have to drill...
Do you have to log in to Facebook to see the photos on exhibition?

We don't see you doing much of anything in the 'standard' way, Jim. One of the reasons I look forward to your posts!
I don't think it needs "repaired". An unskilled hand could do damage in the attempt to correct a harmless cosmetic issue.
B&H has a selection of B+W push on lens caps (they make them for Schneider) for a very reasonable price. They are sized by the O.D. of the lens cell you want to cover. A pair of plastic metric...

The Schneider caps are usually less expensive than the Kaiser. They are marketed under the B+W brand (the maker) also. Check B&H and Adorama for various sizes. the B+W 51mm is $5....
Is that separation or just the paint lifting a la schneideritis? I would guess from the vintage this one will be well into UV cured resin era.

That's what I paid for mine ($650 US) but it came with a #0 lensboard. Mine does not have a revolving back, you have to pop it loose to turn it.
