Re: Chamonix bellows not IR proof - Solution?

The 4 mil black plastic that lumber yards sell is ir proof up to about 16 or 1800nm. Way above the sensitivity of the film. A boot that covers the bellows might look kinda redneck, but such is...

    Re: Gralab doesn't stop

A limit switch has moved in all likelihood. Don't forget to unplug it before opening. If the faceplates are held by screws it'll be easy to get into. If it has pop rivets you'll have to drill...

    Re: Miscl. Meniscii

Jim Galli said: "Non standard abbreviation for miscellaneous."

We don't see you doing much of anything in the 'standard' way, Jim. One of the reasons I look forward to your posts!
  6. Re: Do you know what is the problem with this Schneider Super-Symmar 210 XL lens?

I don't think it needs "repaired". An unskilled hand could do damage in the attempt to correct a harmless cosmetic issue.
  7. Re: Do you know what is the problem with this Schneider Super-Symmar 210 XL lens?

    It's not a problem.
  8. Re: Exact size of rear push on cap - Graphic Kowa 210

B&H has a selection of B+W push on lens caps (they make them for Schneider) for a very reasonable price. They are sized by the O.D. of the lens cell you want to cover. A pair of plastic metric...
  9. Re: X-Ray film emulsion removal video tutorial

Thanks for the informative video Stone. I like the use of the newsprint. I think I'll take up that trick for fujiroids too.
Does removing the emulsion make a density difference? Can you see a...

Re: Nightvision goggles for developing film?

I use 680nm illuminators bounced off of the ceiling for my NV device. No trace of fogging, but I can't see by them either.

Re: Nightvision goggles for developing film?

+1 For the ATN Viper. Diabetes has made the sense of touch in my hands so I can't load reels and holders by feel. I find it easier to use than safe lights for X-Ray too.

Re: Holder hinge tape: options(and pro's/cons)

Has anyone used the 11.5 mil Brodart tape? I will probably have to do this sometime and this looks like a promising material.

    Re: Rear lens caps needed!

The Schneider caps are usually less expensive than the Kaiser. They are marketed under the B+W brand (the maker) also. Check B&H and Adorama for various sizes. the B+W 51mm is $5....

Re: Balsam Separation on Used Lens

Is that separation or just the paint lifting a la schneideritis? I would guess from the vintage this one will be well into UV cured resin era.

  15. Re: Reasonable price for Wista Field 45? And advice.

That's what I paid for mine ($650 US) but it came with a #0 lensboard. Mine does not have a revolving back, you have to pop it loose to turn it.
    Regards.
