Drew,
I believe it is a progression of the square root of 2.
But would be interested in hearing what the right answer might be as well.

Oren,
Thank you for correcting my post.
I just confirmed your comments with regards to the sizes for the Korona Banquet (http://www.piercevaubel.com/cam/gundlach/banq.htm) and for the Panoramic...
decoff,
The shutter size is related to the diameter of the lens where it mounts to the shutter, and that will in turn depend upon the lens construction and the size of the glass it needs to...
Gabriel,
I am unfamiliar with the F&S 7x17 / 8x20, so please excuse my naïve questions or comments.
I have a Korona Panoramic View in 8x20 format with an extension rail. It has an extension...
And of course, if you want the 90mm look, you can always crop either in the darkroom or on the computer...
David,
It is well designed and well built, and beyond the equipment I have and my skill capability...
Had a couple of really skilled sheet metal workers in the adjacent unit where my wife...
IC,
This is a slip-on bracket for a Toyo shade that works on my V8

Might provide some ideas for you.
Good luck,
Ok, not mentioned is my 355mm / 14" Repro-Claron in a Compur 2 shutter.
Not common, but have owned two over the years, so they can be found.
Compact enough that I can insert the lens mounted on...
Couple of solutions...
1. Used a couple of off the shelf "L" brackets from the local hardware store and plastic fasteners in the V8 rise slot with one of the "L" brackets to constrain the V8 front...
Do watch the tripod head to be certain it is robust enough.
When I got my Green Monster (the lighter magnesium C! version), I placed it upon my Linhof twin shank tripod with the standard 3D head. ...
Further to the earlier comments, it is just a switch that closes at a particular time during he exposure ("X" sync for electronic flash).
The electrical power comes from the flash system.
Do...
I can confirm Mike's conjecture that the Korona 8x20 Panoramic View had the slots in the tripod block section to allow mounting of wood stiffeners to make the front rail and rear extension rail more...
When reading this post, I was wondering as I have that scale on my Compur shutter, whether if it would be compatible on a Copal shutter.
Or is nothing that simple?
Just a question of curiosity,...
My 355mm f9 Repro-Claron also resides in a Compur 2 shutter
When I requested Richard Ritter to make replacement dark slides for my two 8x20 holders, he requested that I sent the camera back with them, as well.
As it turned out, Richard needed to shim the...
I remember making on on a table saw with a dato blade to cut the rebate.
A little crude, but in keeping with the robust and simple nature of my 5x7 Elwood enlarger itself.
As per our Displaced Canadian's link to the SKGrimes site, it looks like it might be a 3S...
This is where it gets interesting...
I just pulled mine out of the bag and can verify there are no...
My 21cm Heliar is in now in a Copal 3S after removing it from its original barrel.
That information may not be relevant for your case.
Do make sure you send him a standard sized shutter i.e. Copal 0, 1, or 3 for reference...
As indicated by others, new mechanical shutters are no longer being built, and that is not a technical decision, but an economic one, as there is unlikely sufficient market demand to justify the...
Bob,
Just to be clear, as you talking ab out non-telephoto lenses, as my 355mm Repro Claron is not in the rear most focused position at infinity when the beds are extended.
I assumed that...
Atul,
My 355mm f9 Repro-Claron (approx. 14") will focus to about 10 feet on my Technika V with about 16" of bellows.
More severe case than you are suggesting, so I would say yes,
Len
Randy,
Not just cameras vary, but so do non-original bellows. My non-original bellows on the 8x10 are relatively thick compared to the UK Custom Bellows on the 8x20.
I do not recognize "Tin...
William,
I presume to be clear you mean cheaper with a less expensive learning curve....
Was wondering the same, but wanted to address is technical questions first,
Len
Randy,
In post #3 above, he did ask a question about a 14" WA lens. The common ULF 14" WA lens I can think of is the 355 G-Claron.
I know on my 8x10 field camera with 32" bellows length that I...
You will need to do some research, but there may remain some things you might not get from research.
Your research will tell you with a 24" non-telephoto lens and 48" off bellows you will be able...
Randy,
Certainly the right tools make the job easier and does the job better (more accurate in this requirement).
As well as not having a height gauge, even if given one, would have no place to...
It might just be me, but I would not think that a f9 G-Claron would be considered a portrait lens on 4x5, but it is a small lens and might fit when it is closed up on the CG.
The 210 G-Claron will...
Neal,
Thanks for the info, always helpful to have another source.
Do we have any feedback from customers who used their bellows on LF cameras?
Do we know what are the typical size range of...
Randy,
Different vintage and different format of holder, but my two 8x20 (using my digital vernier, if that is not a contradiction) is: 0.434" and 0.456" on the one, and 0.414" and 0.442" on the...
I believe the designers graduated from the design school of "If in Doubt, Make It Stout"
Nice precision and versatile camera (and expensive when new), and there are compromises in every design...
Another consideration is with regards to the weight and distance that weight is from the lens board.
I have a 325mm f4.5 and a 36cm f4.5 both in barrels that "automatically" provide some front...
Larry,
There was a recent discussion on that lenses can be left on a Technika and still close the camera up.
You might find that discussion useful as well.
For the 75 and 90 Super-Angulons I have...
Angus,
I believe you are correct with your comment on banquet cameras, but my 8x20 "Korona Panoramic View" has a rear extension to accommodate a total of about 32" of bellows, same length as my...
Tim,
You want the interior of the bellow to reflect as little of the non-imaging light as possible, to avoid the resulting contrast reduction.
Same reason we use lens hoods...
Good luck,
Len
And with the lens removed, a little flat black paint sprayed on the back of the lens board also serves as thread locker...
Make sure you tape over the threads on the lens flange.
Might want to check the focus before reversing the ground glass.
I sent my 8x20 Korona Panoramic View back to Richard Ritter as he was repairing the dark slides for the film holders and wanted to...
With 3D scanning and printing, some of the mechanical parts can be made, in fact turbine blades for jet engines are 3D printed and I cannot think of much more severe applications than that.
...
My 355 G-Claron directly threaded into a Compur 3 (same size a Copal 3)...
Just to add to some of the prior responses, I too have standardised on a small lens board (Linhof Technika) and a big lens board (Deardorff 6x6 rounded corner), as they were the cameras I was using. ...
