I own Ebony RW45 and Anniversary Graflex 5x4 cameras and made it possible to use 4x4 lensboards throughout...all the way to my kodak 2D 8x10 using the same boards and lenses throughout. I was going...
Yup...looks like a RR, all you need is some waterhouse stops to control your aperture...by the looks of it I'm guessing it is a f8 lens for a 5x7 but may go up to 8x10 but you can only tell if you...
CC Harrison is sometime a crap shoot...If you get a good one keep it...but some are not, they are handmade so it's hit and miss.
Probably shortened to reduce vignetting when using larger format cameras thereby increasing the image circle on the back end. If you do the light and white paper and have the light shine thru to the...
Nice...I have 2 cameras and both are 2D's. They are great workhorse cameras and if you can get the back rails they are worth even more.
Personally, I wouldn't even mess with it unless you plan to do exposures all the time at 1 or 2. That shutter is a little more complex that one things it is and at the end you might have a problem...
Another thing you might do...looking at the negs that the leak is on top, you might after you finished focusing on the ground glass is to cover the bellows and camera itself with your focus cloth to...
I own 8x10 2D and I made my own ground glass and had my glass cutter cut the corners like the original that came with it. I figure they cut it that way for a specific purpose so I figure I do the...
I replaced my old original non graflok back on my anniversary speedgraphic with a generic graflok back. It took a total of 5 small screws to be directly screwed into the back of the camera and now it...
I have 2 Kodak 2D 8x10 and they work fine. The hard part is finding a good one nowdays.
Can you disassemble the back from the camera and replace it with any graflok back? If so it may be possible to find an old graflok back for speedgraphics and just mount it that way. Im sure your...
I have a 5x4 ebony and a kodak 8x10 with a 5x7 adapter and looking at the 5x7 it is a nice size to have around as a option.
I had a local hardware store make my chipped corners for me at a nominal price and at the same time made me 3 extra glasses in which I grind them myself using this method and it turned out to be...
I use a Gitzo 1570M head for my 8x10 and Gitzo Gh3750qr on my series 3 Gitzo sticks for 4x5 work.
I took off all my stops on my speed graphic and just focus using a loupe and manual focus...especially when using lomography lenses.
I went to a local staples store where they sell these sheet fresnel page magnifier glass and just hold it up carefully in front of the ground glass to confirm everything is in focus in the corners....
I made my own ground glass by taking the old one to a local hardware store that cuts glass and made 3 spares. I then proceeded and made the glass using silicon carbine and it came out pretty bright...
I have a pentax serie v and digital spotmeter...Using the zone system they are both accurate. I also have a minolta but it takes much longer to learn and by the time you figure out your exposure...
I have a some old miller sticks mounted with a gitzo G1570M head that is great for my Kodak 2D. If I were ever in a pinch...i can also mount the camera on my gitzo series three carbon fiber with my...
I use grafmatics for 4x5 and a couple of wooden kodak 8x10's on my 2D.

If your shooting large format....nothing beats getting an old pentax V spotmeter or digital spotmeter....using ev readings and zone system make it easy to use.
Me too...I own two kodak 2d's after watching your youtube videos and impressed how they seem rock solid. And at the inexpensive prices ...I can make one for vintage lenses with the packard shutter...
Checkout the viewcamerastore.com....they have some very promising dark cloths but you can just a as easily do the jim galli way and use a old sweatshirt that works for him.
I watched this video. Learned a lot from it.

If the camera can't handle vintage brass lenses..it is a no go for me....That is why i chose to get Kodak 2D 8x10's.
I just recently purchased from Ebay an old 8x10 Kodak 2d in relatively very good to mint condition for around $550.00 including an 5x7 reducing back. I find that after using both my Ebony 4x5 and...

there is also some Voigtlander fakes on the market....do a lot of research on the engravings of the real lenses and you should have no problem.
I'm glad I got my Ebony RW45 used in mint condition last year and so I'm good for now along with my Anniversary Speed Graphic for using my Petzval and RR lenses. But if I see a nice 8x10 or 11x14...
I use a used Calumet 7x loupe and had put black electrical tape around the barrel so my focus plane doesn't move everytime I use it.
I use a camel hair brush on my petzvals and RR's. as for what liquid to use I use the CURA system with Micro Wiper sheets. I found this to be the best, especially highly rated in Japan. Even Bellamy...
I use the BTZs system and it works good for me

HP Dreamcolor monitors are great...you can find used ones on ebay or craigslist for under 200.00 dollars. HP LP2480zx.
Those circles you see, might be a wet fresnel...try to find a umbrella that can attach to your tripod. I bought one recently that people use on their golf bags and have heard it helps during rain....
Well I just emailed Steve and get a final quote for ebony rw45 with grid. He says he has a brighter glass but it reduces diffusion and may create hot spots....anyone tried the brighter glass?
Yes...I was referring to your post. I have been in contact will maxwell and I will ask him directly if there is a modification needed on my Ebony. Unfortunately it will be in a couple of weeks till I...
Keep us posted how the Hopf screen works on the Ebony..I have the RW45 but was not aware of the need of a camera back modification needed when using the ebony.
Hows the Steve Hopf screens compared to Maxwell? I have the stock Ebony screen on mine and was wondering if the Maxwell will be that much better in return for his high price.
