Re: Music as analogy for LF photography

I often hear Bach when photographing, then some awful pop band from the 1980s when I see the developed negative!

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I live in Klamath falls, OR, and when my parents were alive, they were in Casper, WY. If you look for the route between them on a road atlas, you'll see that I've driven through my share of that kind...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I think that images like this are often underappreciated. It really conveys the feeling of the basin and range of Nevada and western Utah.

And I love that lens - shot four sheets of film...

This is the Constantia Catholic Church, located next to Highway 395 in California, north of Reno. It was moved to that location in 1994, and came very close to burning in the Beckwourth fire this...

    Re: canyon de chelly

Well, I made it to CDC, and here are some impressions.

I usually research fairly well, but I was naive about the setting - how close the canyon is to the town of Chinle, that locals live all...

Not that either solution is all that hard to make, but B is definitely easier (only one chemical, and I find that it dissolves easily without warming the water), so mixing it fresh all the time seems...

Nice shot, Kevin. I like the fact that the lightness of the leaves keeps the spots where the sky shows through from being distracting, as they are when the foliage is darker.
