  1. Re: Question on how to assess condition of Sinar X

Is there a reason you are considering the X over a F2? They are a lot less money, lighter and easier to tote around and have all the movements you will ever need. I have the F2 and the P2 and almost...
  2. Re: Gallery owner arrested for forged and stolen Ansel Adams photographs

There is a movie on Netflix about the Knoedler Gallery in New York selling fake works and they made millions before they were caught. It's called "Made You Look: A Tue Stork About Fake Art."

I am going through this transition myself, I just started digital capture of my negatives. It's tougher than you think. I imagine the highest number of shots you would need would be nine. Even four...

Re: Zone VI Type II 8x10 VC Head Problem

It's less about being excited about them and more about finding a practical solution to get that enlarger up and running. Obviously it would be best to have the original VC head working but that...

Re: Zone VI Type II 8x10 VC Head Problem

Since you are using it in an educational environment you need it to work reliably. I would replace the light source with an LED one that is blue and green. Waveform Lighting makes tunable LED strips....
  6. Re: Arca Swiss F-Line Metric vs Metric C Field for architceture

I was going to suggest Sinar as well, I second Bernice's comments. Much of architectural photography comes down to lens coverage and understanding movements. Is there a reason you want the Arca...

I bought from underredlight on ebay. I wanted a print washer for 8x10" film. Once the war broke out I bought it just trying to support a small business in Ukraine. He contacted me to say he would...

Re: Unidentified Problem - Need Help!

If you want to eliminate pinholes as a possibility, setup you camera in direct sun. Focus on something close (you want a fair amount of bellows extension) but flat and a darker color, like...

Re: Unidentified Problem - Need Help!

    Robert,

I thought of that however given that the image (meaning the cars and tree line) has some definition I didn't think it was a pinhole. It's possible but the hole would have to be very small...

Re: Unidentified Problem - Need Help!

    Robert,

The third and fourth photographs most clearly demonstrate what's going on. The "sawtooth" pattern you are seeing is a tree line in the distance. The objects below it are parked cars. That...
  12. Re: Canít find profile in Photoshop on new computer

    Patrick,

Which version of Photoshop are you using? I just checked in Photoshop CC 2021 and 2022 and it was there in both versions. It was at the very bottom of the list. If it's still not there,...

  20. Re: Features of a universal Filmscanner and why the Epson 700/800 has or has not.
