  1. Re: needing to make lensboards...for a complete idiot with tools

thanks John. That sounds very manageable even for me.
  2. needing to make lensboards...for a complete idiot with tools

    Hi all,
I have a B&J 5x7 in great condition. Problem is that I have a single lensboard for it, and it's not the right size for the lenses I have. So I need to make lensboards. But I am a complete...

help making some lensboards - SF bay area

    Hi all,
I know that making lensboards isn't _that_ hard, but I don't have the tools to make them for my B&J 5x7. Is there anyone in the SF bay area that can help me out? Maybe someone can point me...

Re: Oregon coast - where to start planning

    hi all,
thanks again for all the help. I just got back yesterday and had a great time. One thing I learned, though, was that it's really hard to shoot LF if one forgets film...oh well. Digital...

Re: Oregon coast - where to start planning

I've been keeping track of the tides this time of year. there is a low tide point around 5-6pm each day so we're going to try and see if that'll work for us at least some of the time. we're going...

looks like I'll be eating at the Adobe while in Yachats :-). I'm staying at a B&B there and most places other than Bandon.

Re: Oregon coast - where to start planning

Eric - unfortunately I don't drink, but I appreciate the suggestion. I'm not a point and shoot type of LF photographer, but I'm not exclusively an LF photographer, either. I'll have it along for...

Re: Oregon coast - where to start planning

Tom - thanks for the specific suggestions. Little things like that is where I'm at now in my planning.

To be clear, are you saying that 5 days is a lot or not enough to explore 300 miles of...

Tom - interesting, as you've given some suggestions that are really different than others. Perhaps more useful in that regard (so it's certainly not a bad thing). So no Cannon Beach, eh? Hm.

Re: Oregon coast - where to start planning

    All,
First, I do apologize if anyone felt like they had to repeat themselves. I did do a search, and I found a lot of good information. But I realized I was making plans for maybe 4 or 5 trips, or...

Oregon coast - where to start planning

    Hi all,
I did a search on various places to photograph in Oregon - stacks or dunes, etc - and I came away overwhelmed with options.

My wife and I are considering probably going up or down the...

Re: 4x5: LF Print quality from epson V750 scans

Richard - did you just seriously compare the V750 to a drum scan?

They are not the same, no question. When I want a scan for exhibits - which...isn't that often :-( - I get a drum scan. But for...

you mean for them to become less neutral? perhaps due to exposure to the sun changing the dyed color?

I use the P series on my "other format" cameras with Hi-Tech ND grads, which seem to be pretty neutral to me. I am crossing my fingers that they'll still be okay for my LF lenses. But that is an...

Re: Epson V750 Doug Fishers LF Holder

Okay - _that_ makes sense :-). I'm thinking "is she tearing the film base off...?" :-)

I wet mount now but perhaps having the emulsion side down still makes sense. It's nice fitting two strips...

Joanna - how would putting the film emulsion side down prevent scanning through the base? At some point the light in the lid has to pass through the film base to the sensor in the scanner body.

Oren - thanks. I did see those threads, and saw the Calumet/Cambo ones. I was hoping for something in the 6x12 or 6x17 range (otherwise I'd just shoot my 6x9 cameras! :-).

roll film adapters for spring backs

Re: How much chemistry for unidrum

the answer is that you should put in enough chemistry for the size and amount of film you have in there. For instance - Agfa Rodinal is recommended at 10ml per 8x10 sheet (or 5x7 sheet, 2 4x5...

shen hao MF backs on a deardorff?

    Hi all,
I got all kinds of non-relevant results in a search, and since the Deardorff is an older camera (other than of course the new ones being made) I am not as familiar with them.

    Is it...
