Surprised no one mentioned Kenro Izu. He makes (or made) brilliant platinum/palladium prints using a 14 x 20 camera.

Hi Dave,
Just moved here to Albany a few weeks ago and have no idea about possible shooting locations. I just looked it up and it seems Williamstown is about an hour from Albany. Would be...
That's quite a list. Thanks Louie
Just moved to Albany NY and was wondering if there are any LF shooters in the area. Any suggestions about local places to shoot would be most appreciated.
Feel free to PM or email:...
Thank you Mat for that hilarious video, really enjoyed it. BTW, I also appreciate your LF Friday series on You Tube.
Hi Matt,
Really like the subtle, almost desaturated color in combination with the soft focus lens. Well done. Would like to hear more about the reversal process and look forward to seeing more...
Pierre 506,
This is an exceptional portrait, really well done. Would you be willing to provide additional technical information about the reversal process and the paper you use?
My favorite galleries in California are located in Carmel by the Sea. The only two names I remember are the Weston Gallery and Photography West. I'm pretty sure both of these either display Pt/Pd...
Thanks for the info, I was wondering if you used infrared film. Personally, I don't think it matters whether the print is "digital" or analog, either way it's a really great photo.
That is a stunning photo. If possible, can you give us a bit more info about how image was made? If this is a print, can you say a few words about the paper, toning, etc. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone used the 8x10 anti-Newton ring glass insert made by Better Scanning to "hold an 8x10 negative flat" in an Epson 850 scanner? I have not had a problem with Newton rings but wondering if...
Just checked my SA 121/8 and I agree with Les, wide open (f8) you cannot see aperture blades. They only become visible as you stop down. Seems like an issue with your shutter.
Don
I'm still uncertain about whether the 850 version is worth the extra $300 but I appreciate all the comments.
Thanks.
I plan to scan large format B&W negs (up to 8x10) exclusively (no color) and would appreciate any information about how the Epson 850 differs from the 800. I'm told the two machines are identical...
Thanks for the information Erik, much appreciated. Is there a reason you prefer a digital negative over the in camera original? Do you alter the image much in PhotoShop? Either way, the result is...
Really stunning image. Would love to see the original print. Can you give us any details of the process? Which pigments did you use; how many coats; paper; etc.
Thanks for any additional info you...
I routinely shoot with an 8x10 Chamonix fitted with a 4x10 reducing back. If you prefer the Philips-style camera (over the Canham), you should know there is a nice 4x10 back available. I usually...
Very nice, can you provide any details (film/lighting/etc)? Thanks
Don
Just FYI, a small group of us are going to Peter's Valley in northern NJ next Sat. Fall foliage should be near peak. Let me know if you're interested.
Don
I was thinking it was probably impossible to use a WA converter on a 4x5 SLR but, based on your responses, maybe it's worth a try. Thanks to all of you for the info, really appreciate your help.

I've been shooting with my Graflex Super D lately and wondering if it is possible to use a wide angle conversion lens to achieve a wider angle of view? Obviously, the camera does not allow you to...
The turnout was surprising to say the least, thanks "Bomzi". Really great day in CP.

This Sunday at 11AM at the fountain in CP OK with me. Can we get a sense of how many are likely to attend? Is the original poster still involved? Haven't seen anything on this thread in a week or...
I suggest the Bethesda Fountain, it's in the center of the park, about equidistant from CPW and 5th Ave. Enter at 72nd St.
How about 11 AM or is that too early for anyone outside the city?
Don
A few of us live within walking distance to park but other locations OK as well. Sept 21 or 22?
4x5 ilford delta, 250mm fujinon sf. Chamonix 45n2.
Textured print.
Great facial expression, nicely done. BTW, what is a "textured print".

Thanks Rolfe, I'll check him out. Afraid DIY is out of the question in view of my complete lack of mechanical ability.

I have a CPA/CPP JOBO processor that's not working. Fuse seems to be OK but unit does not turn on. Any suggestions for JOBO repair in NYC area (prefer not to ship it)? Maybe someone with expertise...
Mine doesn't have a RF either. Camera is exceptionally light without one. I prefer using GG in any event.
Thanks Dan
Bill,
No patent number/date on front ring, all information is on the barrel and no mention of patent. What does this mean?
Don
Tim,
As per the CC Harrison website, that would place date of manufacture around 1909-10. What does that mean, if anything, about the lens formula? I've heard that the design of the lens changed...
I have a Heliar in a brass barrel, focal length 11 3/4 inches, aperture range from f4.5-f50. Manufacturer is The Voigtlander & Son Opt Co. New York. Serial number 58409. Was hoping someone might...
A while back Thomas published a book called "New York Sleeps" which was shot in a similar style (if I remember correctly he used a Linhof and Polaroid film). IMO, really well done.
Don
So, the meeting is at the "Coach House Dinner parking lot" in Jersey City at Noon? Does the individual who is organizing this know how many folks are planning to show up?
Don
Rather than discuss pros and cons of the Patriot Act, I think the point of this thread was to plan a LF shoot in NJ. Toward that end, can we set a time/date? I previously suggested Sat. Oct 22nd or...
I suggest we post a few possible dates and locations and take an informal "vote".
Someone previously suggested Sunday Oct 23 or 30th. Personally I'd prefer Sat. Oct 22nd or the following Sat Oct...
I know a few folks who might be interested as well. Suggest you organize/announce
a field trip in October (while the weather is still good).
Don
I heard from a number of friends that it was a pleasure to do business with Hugo and this was confirmed by own recent experience (bought an 8x10). The communication was excellent and delivery was...
Oren,
As an owner of both cameras could you clarify whether the 4x10 Chamonix back accepts 4x10 Canham holders? If you've used both types of holder, do you have a preference for one over the...
